Senior Lead, IAM Platform OperationsPosition SummaryThe Senior Lead, IAM Platform Operations is responsible for the operational leadership, reliability, resilience, and continuous improvement of Northern Trust's Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms. This role provides accountable service ownership across identity governance, privileged access, authentication, authorization, non-human identity, and emerging AI-agent identity services while ensuring alignment with cyber security, regulatory, and business objectives. Key Responsibilities- Lead global IAM platform operations, support teams, and service management functions.
- Own operational performance, availability, resiliency, capacity planning, upgrades, and lifecycle management for IAM platforms.
- Establish and maintain service-level objectives, operational metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Drive automation, self-service capabilities, and continuous improvement to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Lead incident, problem, and change management activities, including executive communications and root-cause remediation.
- Ensure operational readiness for audits, regulatory examinations, and control assessments.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Governance, and Risk teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant IAM services.
- Manage vendor relationships, operational budgets, support contracts, and service performance.
- Build and develop a high-performing global operations organization focused on accountability, service excellence, and operational discipline.
Required Qualifications- 10+ years of experience in IAM, Cyber Security, or Technology Operations.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing enterprise platforms or operational teams.
- Strong expertise in Identity Governance, Privileged Access Management, Authentication, Authorization, and Identity Lifecycle Management.
- Experience supporting critical security platforms in large, highly regulated organizations.
- Proven success driving operational transformation, automation, and service maturity improvements.
- Strong understanding of ITIL, service management, operational resilience, and risk management practices.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with CyberArk, Saviynt, Entra ID, Okta, Ping, ServiceNow, and cloud identity platforms.
- Financial services industry experience.
- Knowledge of NIST, COBIT, FFIEC, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ITIL, CyberArk, Saviynt, or Microsoft security certifications.
