I & E Technician Offshore
Note: Estimated annual pay based on an hourly schedule: $105,000K to $155,000K
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform technical work in the maintenance of electrical systems, instrumentation, and calibration. This position requires certification as a staff I & E Technician
pursuant to company procedures, policies and industry best practices. Duties will include, but are not limited to, maintain and troubleshoot oil and gas onshore and
offshore I&E equipment, work with the Lead Operators to maintain production, and provide assistance in all maintenance programs.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
• Perform electrical maintenance and repair of facilities
• Test and calibrate of instruments and sensors, as needed
• Incorporate study courses to help in the certification process and to maintain currency
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motors, drives, transformers, switchgear, discrete/analog instruments and PLCs
• Proficiently use test instruments such as a voltmeter, ammeter, megohm meter and hart communicator
• Interpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and NEC code specifications
• Layout, bend and run conduit
• Install, repair and/or replace electrical wiring, receptacles, switchbox, feeders, coaxial cable lighting fixtures and components.
• Size and install wire/cable, conduit, panels, junction boxes, and protective devices based on the nec.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and maintain records
• Have knowledge of lockout/tagout/EIL policies and procedures
• Have training in low and high voltage equipment
• Have ability to lay out projects, order materials and be successful in completion and startup
• Have proficiency in industrial control logic (ladder logic)
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Must be qualified under applicable regulations and required fit testing
• Required to wear personal protective equipment which may include self-contained breathing apparatus
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and crawling
• Work on an offshore oil platform in close quarters - maintain satisfactory hygiene to work and live with others onboard
• Lift, lower, push, and pull equipment and tools
• Work in confined/restricted working environment
• Work at elevated heights, in enclosed spaces and on uneven walk surfaces
• Climb ladders, stairs, and ramps
• Operate rotating equipment and machinery safely to maintain production processes
• Operate power, pneumatic hand tools
• Ability to work varying (day and night) shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending operation service needs
• Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
• Concentrate and focus to monitor and observe for safety and environmental issues, including, for example, hazardous gas leaks and oil spills
• Analyze and respond promptly to safety and environmental issues in a sound and timely manner
• Physically fit to perform physical assessment
• Obtain and maintain Swing Rope Certification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5 to 10+ years of previous, relevant experience in electrical systems and motor driven equipment
• Relevant experience with mechanical equipment
• Physically fit to perform physical assessment
