Ready to put your hydraulic expertise at the heart of major hydropower projects? In this strategic role, you will influence technical solutions from the proposal stage and tackle a variety of challenges alongside recognized specialists in engineering, design, and testing. The following responsibilities form the core of this role in our Canadian team.
• Analyze customer specifications, drawings, and requirements to define tailored, differentiated, and competitive hydraulic solutions.
• Develop and optimize preliminary solutions with the hydraulic design and turbine and generator mechanical engineering teams, ensuring technical consistency, feasibility, and performance.
• Perform the required analyses and calculations, including turbine performance, hydraulic transients, axial hydraulic thrust, and the selection and sizing of labyrinth seals.
• Identify and manage hydraulic risks, and propose practical, innovative solutions aligned with proposal objectives.
• Prepare hydraulic proposals, technical data sheets, and clear, compelling reports tailored to customer needs.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and apply your expertise to strengthen the quality and competitiveness of our proposals.

Technical expertise and engineering judgement:
• Strong analytical skills and engineering judgement to develop high-performing, competitive hydraulic solutions with well-managed risks.
• Creativity and initiative to solve complex hydraulic problems and clearly communicate technical choices and trade-offs.
• Ability to provide credible technical influence within proposal teams and among stakeholders.
• Good understanding of hydraulic design principles, turbine mechanics, and fluid dynamics.

Interpersonal and collaboration skills:
• Clear communication in English and French, with the ability to adapt technical messages for teams, commercial partners, and customers.
• Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese (an asset).
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and exercise technical influence through listening, credibility, and sound judgement.

Qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or another engineering discipline relevant to the role.
• At least three years of relevant hydropower experience, including hydraulic design or testing, turbine mechanics, project engineering, or technical sales (an asset).
• Proficiency with hydraulic analysis and calculation tools, as well as Microsoft Office.
• Availability for occasional travel related to projects and customer meetings.
