HVAC Service Manager - FT. Worth, TX

In this role, you will lead a field service team focused on account performance, labor and material growth, and strong execution of the service business.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for service customer account leadership across the team's customer base, with a focus on profitability, productivity, customer satisfaction, employee development, and safety program compliance. This role brings together people leadership, financial discipline, and day-to-day service execution, work closely with branch leadership and cross-functional teams to meet commitments and grow the business.

What you'll do
  • Lead service customer account activity for the team's customer base and drive growth in Labor and Materials (L&M) and Planned Services Agreements.
  • Set and monitor customer account gross margin delivery, profitability, and overall service performance.
  • Drive L&M growth through Technicians and Team Leads while supporting strong execution of the service business.
  • Lead resolution of warranty-related customer issues and ensure service commitments are completed.
  • Review and approve L&M quotations in line with business expectations.
  • Manage customer relationship development and satisfaction through consistent follow-up and communication.
  • Support employee development, retention, hiring, training, and transition of new team members.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to support current work and new business needs.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities tied to the service operation.
  • Procure and maintain fleet and tools inventory to support field execution.
  • Ensure consistency of delivery systems through supervision and audits of Technicians, Customer Service Agents, and other service delivery team members.
  • Conduct formal performance reviews and address day-to-day performance and related team issues.
  • Support safety performance and ensure program compliance across the team.

  • Take ownership of customer outcomes, operating safely and with integrity in every decision.
  • Stay close to the work by supporting Technicians, Team Leads, and Customer Service Agents, while removing barriers that slow service delivery.
  • Use candor, root-cause thinking, and continuous improvement to strengthen margin, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build trust across the team by collaborating with field and office partners and valuing different perspectives.
  • Use clear goals and regular reviews to keep gross margin, quotations, staffing, and service execution on track.
  • Apply basic financial discipline when managing budgets, forecasting, and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Rely on MS Office and a basic Windows environment to support reporting, planning, and day-to-day administration.
  • Maintain a structured approach to audits, follow-up, and performance management so service standards stay consistent.

Required
  • Technical school training or equivalent experience in the HVAC or building controls industry.
  • Three or more years of management experience in a similar service deliverable environment.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work activities for the team, manage scheduling, and lead a diverse team.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated competence in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic financial accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products and a basic Windows environment.

Preferred
  • Diploma in Electronic or Mechanical Systems.
  • Two years of prior experience in the HVAC or building controls industry.
  • Five or more years in a service management role directing a similar service deliverable team.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $95K-$135,000. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
