Full Job Description
Under general supervision, the HVAC Controls Systems Technician Team Leader oversees the day-to-day activities of the field technician team, plans monthly technician routes, and supports the performance of the assigned business. This role balances customer satisfaction, safety compliance, and financial goals while helping ensure consistent service delivery and strong operational results.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the field technician team and plan monthly technician routes.
  • Analyze team performance and recommend changes to improve profitability, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Supervise assigned teams and ensure developmental plans are in place.
  • Coordinate the team's work with sales to support sales opportunities, including installation opportunities.
  • Ensure serviced account portfolios achieve growth, proper profit levels, and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement plans to comply with HVAC operational standards and monitor performance against expectations.
  • Drive service and installation operational review meetings, including review of bids and estimates for accuracy.
  • Recruit, hire, and retain operational staff while supporting performance reviews and development plans.
  • Use workforce management tools and resource deployment practices to support effective execution.
  • Perform other managerial responsibilities related to business plans, account management, and customer satisfaction.

  • You will win as one team by collaborating across functions, sharing standard processes, and valuing different perspectives in decision-making.
  • You will ensure contractual obligations are completed and that HVAC standards are followed consistently across the assigned business.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent working experience.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive operational experience in HVAC services.
  • Three years of experience in a management role with responsibility for the productivity and development of others.
  • Experience supervising teams, managing field execution, and supporting customer-facing service operations.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational performance and recommend improvements that support safety, quality, and financial outcomes.
Nice to Have
  • Master's degree.
  • Eight years' experience in an operational HVAC role with leadership responsibilities.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Johnson Controls Metasys experience.
