Full Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY

McCarthy's Northern Pacific region is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to support regional HR operations. The HR team serves as a business partner to the business, providing practical solutions in a rapidly growing market.

Reporting to the HR Director, the Human Resources Specialist provides administrative, coordination, and customer-service support across recruiting, onboarding, employee data, leave administration, mobility, compliance, and regional HR programs. This role partners closely with the HR Director, Talent Acquisition Manager, HR Business Partners, Payroll, Benefits/Total Rewards, HR Technology, and project leaders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Operations and Regional Program Support

  • Coordinate assigned regional HR processes and projects from intake through completion, including documentation, tracking, stakeholder follow-up, and status communication.


  • Provide first-line support to employees, managers, project leaders, and HR partners by answering routine questions and explaining established HR policies, procedures, and processes; escalate complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate partner.


  • Support regional HR programs and initiatives, including performance-plan system administration, talent-review support, wellness programs, service awards, and other assigned processes.


  • Assist the HR Director with research, special projects, and process-improvement efforts.


  • Coordinate with internal partners and external vendors to support timely, consistent HR service delivery.


Recruiting, Onboarding, and Employee Lifecycle Coordination

  • Coordinate recruiting and onboarding activities including, candidate travel and expenses, pre-employment background check and drug test statuses, applicant tracking system, offer letters, equipment orders, HRIS workflows, and onboarding communications.


  • Track recruiting activity, including approved offers and new-hire start dates; support college recruiting and intern-program administration as assigned.


  • Facilitate regional new-hire orientation and serve as a point of contact throughout onboarding.


  • Coordinate employee lifecycle transactions, including onboarding, offboarding, transfers, rehires, status changes, employment verification, final-pay coordination, and related employee communications.


  • Coordinate promotion, transfer, relocation, and mobility documentation, including effective-date follow-up, assignment or allowance documentation, and downstream actions such as coding, charging information, and system updates.


  • Prepare or coordinate approved promotion, transfer, relocation, and travel-assignment letters and related employee communications and documentations.


Data Management, Reporting, and Compliance

  • Maintain and audit employee information in SuccessFactors and related systems to support accurate employee records and timely workflow completion.


  • Coordinate updates to employee status, location, organizational assignment, job or employee classification, coding, and timekeeping records.


  • Produce ad hoc reports on workforce activity, including new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.


  • Support I-9 and E-Verify administration, required compliance communications, and EEO, disability, and veteran tracking in accordance with established procedures.


Leave, Disability, and Payroll Coordination

  • Administer assigned leave-of-absence and disability processes by maintaining case records, tracking approvals and return-to-work information, communicating with employees and managers, and coordinating with leave vendors and HR partners.


  • Support assigned leave and disability processes, including STD, FMLA, CFRA, maternity, PFML, SDI, PFL, and related programs, in accordance with established procedures.


  • Prepare and reconcile SDI, PFL, and other approved wage-offset calculations; coordinate associated Payroll adjustments, timekeeping actions, and employee communications.


  • Route accommodation-related matters to the appropriate HR, Benefits, Legal, or other designated partner in accordance with established procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of HR experience.


  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR policies and procedures.


  • Strong organizational, prioritization, project-management, and customer-service skills.


  • High attention to detail and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


  • Ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion in matters involving employee records, leave, benefits, compensation, payroll, and employee relations.


  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.


Pending location and experience, the salary range for this position is: $63,000 - $103,000. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
