Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Compensation: up to$170K + Bonus
Location: Wasco, CA (5 days onsite)
The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee day-to-day human resources operations and provide HR leadership for a large manufacturing and agricultural workforce. This position will partner closely with company leadership and Operations to support employee relations, HR compliance, investigations, risk management, workforce development, and overall HR initiatives.
The HR Manager will also be responsible for leading and developing the existing HR function and implementing effective HR policies, procedures, and processes. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a hands-on operational environment while also contributing to longer-term HR strategy and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources function.
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to management and employees.
- Partner with Operations and leadership on employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues.
- Conduct and oversee complex employee relations investigations.
- Ensure investigations are objective, thorough, properly documented, and consistent.
- Provide guidance regarding California employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor and address employment-related risks, including workers' compensation and employment litigation matters.
- Partner with management to address performance, disciplinary, attendance, and workplace conduct issues.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop HR personnel.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Support the needs of a large hourly workforce and seasonal workforce that may increase to approximately 800 employees during harvest.
- Partner with Operations and other business leaders on workforce planning and organizational needs.
- Assist with initiatives designed to improve employee engagement, accountability, communication, and workplace culture.
- Maintain appropriate HR records and documentation.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and overall department effectiveness.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or similar HR certification.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Previous experience in an HR Manager or comparable HR leadership role.
- Strong employee relations experience.
- Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance.
- Previous experience managing, coaching, and developing HR personnel.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong judgment and ability to make sound decisions in complex employee situations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on operational environment.
