Job Description

Under the direction of the Human Resources leadership team, the Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic advisor and trusted consultant to assigned administrative departments. This role partners with department leaders to align people strategies with business objectives and provides practical guidance across employee relations, talent management, organizational effectiveness, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, workforce planning, and policy interpretation.

The HR Manager also serves as a key liaison between business leaders and Human Resources, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen organizational effectiveness, develop talent, support leaders, and enhance the employee experience while ensuring compliance with firm policies and applicable employment laws.

Strategic HR Partnership
  • Provides guidance, advice, and support on a broad range of HR-related matters.
  • Builds strong relationships with department leaders to understand business goals, workforce challenges, and talent needs.
  • Provides consultative guidance on organizational structure, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent strategies.
  • Partners with leaders to support organizational change initiatives and strengthen employee engagement.


Employee Relations and Performance Management
  • Provides coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations issues, performance concerns, workplace conflicts, conduct matters, and policy interpretation.
  • Conducts employee relations investigations and recommends appropriate resolutions.
  • Supports performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, coaching, and development planning.


Compensation, Talent, and Workforce Support
  • Supports compensation administration activities, including market pricing, promotional reviews, salary recommendations, and annual compensation planning.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support recruitment strategies and workforce planning efforts.
  • Participates in candidate selection and interview processes as needed.
  • Supports onboarding efforts to help ensure successful integration of new hires.


Policy, Compliance, and HR Programs
  • Ensures consistent application and interpretation of HR policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Recommends policy and process improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and the employee experience.
  • Supports implementation of HR initiatives, programs, and projects.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Minimum 6-8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 5 years in an HR Business Partner, HR Manager, Employee Relations, or similar strategic HR role.
  • Experience supporting leaders in a legal, professional services, consulting, or similarly complex environment preferred.
  • Strong background in employee relations, talent management, performance management, compensation, and organizational consulting.
  • Sound business judgment and a consultative approach, with the ability to provide practical guidance to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across a diverse group of leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong employee relations, conflict resolution, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and competing deadlines.
  • Trusted, professional, and discreet, with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Workday experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.


This is an exempt position based in our LA office. The anticipated good-faith base salary range for this position is:

  • LA: $125,000 to $172,000 per year.
