Job Description:

Microchip Technology is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Houston, TX office. The HRBP will provide ongoing support to business leaders and employees while working to advance business goals and strengthen the culture and values at Microchip Technology. This is an on-site position and requires working in the office five days per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Effectively manage day-to-day HR activities and administrative responsibilities, ensuring timely and accurate execution of HR processes and documentation
  • Partner closely with leaders to understand business goals and deliver HR solutions that support both people and performance
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and HR support across assigned teams
  • Support full-cycle recruiting activities, including creating and posting requisitions, sourcing and interviewing candidates, extending and negotiating offers, onboarding new hires, process I-9/EVerify, and maintaining accurate documentation to support reporting requirements and OFCCP compliance
  • Manage employee relations matters, including conducting fair, thorough, and confidential investigations
  • Support and process terminations and conduct employee exit interviews
  • Support immigration-related processes and employee support
  • Support Affirmative Action compliance efforts and participate in community outreach initiatives
  • Support benefit open enrollment and wellness initiatives as well as answer questions regarding benefits, qualifying life events, and leave of absence
  • Maintain accurate and compliant HR records across personnel files and HRIS systems
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or related field with 2+ years of prior experience as an HR Business Partner
  • Strong working knowledge of performance management processes
  • Experience with U.S. immigration processes
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS platforms, such as Workday
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Handle sensitive matters with professionalism and good judgment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical HR practices
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Effective listening and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision, and drive tasks and projects to completion


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience supporting technical or engineering teams, ideally within the semiconductor industry
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
  • Experience with Workday and Workday Recruitment
  • Experience supporting Affirmative Action initiatives
