At a Glance:

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is both a strategic and hands-on role that leverages business knowledge, program management and HR expertise to coach leaders and employees in US Business Units. The HRBP contributes to the achievement of business objectives by translating needs and future state goals into a human resources strategy for supported groups and ensuring its effective execution. The HRBP must be focused on championing organizational change, supporting HR initiatives and programs and advocating for teamwork and consistency across business functions. The HRBP reports to the HRBP, Director in Tulsa, OK.

What you will do:
  • Develop and maintain a trusting, strategic partnership between the business and Human Resources as a coach, change leader, organizational health champion, and HR strategy implementer.
  • Translates organizational needs into plans of action to achieve organizational goals and strategies.
  • Partner with leaders at all levels, HR Centers of Expertise (COE) and other Corporate Services to provide business context and ensure the success of services and programs for the organization.
  • Drive change and implementation of Organization Design, Performance Management, Talent Management, Workforce Planning, Employee Relations and Compensation programs with the business.
  • Work closely with Workforce Staffing and Recruiting teams to ensure timely, effective, diverse and inclusive hiring practices.
  • Understand the talent within the organization and create strategies to meet workforce planning, succession planning, and talent management objectives.
  • Provide change leadership directly and/or indirectly to support the roll-out of new initiatives, projects, re-organization, etc.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues partnering with internal groups as needed.
  • Leverage relationships and data to proactively identify and address organizational needs
  • This position will require minimal travel.


What you need:
  • Extensive experience influencing business leaders individually and collectively. Courage to propose solutions others are reluctant to address and advocate for the best interests of the organization and employees.
  • A strategic mindset, equally able to focus on tactical and operational issues. Comfortable digging into tactical tasks and being part of complex strategic discussions.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where change and ambiguity are common.
  • Ability to connect well with employees of all levels and flex preferred style to build trust and rapport.
  • Significant experience handling sensitive employee relations matters with tact and diplomacy. Well-versed in HR compliance, legislation and best practices.
  • Proficiency with leadership and employee development programs, talent management and succession planning.
  • The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company.
  • Sound business acumen to engage and interface with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates and embodies the characteristics of being humble, hardworking, and a team player. Highly collaborative style and desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach.
  • Able to establish and build trusting relationships with individuals of varying backgrounds, with both corporate and oilfield-based employees.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed environment and track record of leading through diplomatic influence rather than formal authority.
  • Demonstrates humility, hunger and high EQ with the ability to relate and quickly connect with and build rapport with a broad scope of people including front line oil field employees to executives in a global environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 8-10 years of human resource experience including the HRBP role.


Not a must, but a plus
  • Experience with a global organization is strongly preferred.
  • Prior work experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
  • HR leadership experience preferred.
