HSSE Specialist - JLL

As an HSSE Specialist at JLL, you'll be the driving force behind health, safety, security, and environmental excellence at our Client's Bradley, IL facility. In this critical role, you'll lead the development and implementation of comprehensive HSSE management systems, ensuring both regulatory compliance and operational excellence. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and champion a culture where safety is embedded in every aspect of our operations. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Lead HSSE management systems and compliance programs at the Client site, working closely with JLL Site Team and Life Sciences HSSE team to establish, track, and achieve performance goals
- Monitor HSSE metrics and key performance indicators, developing and implementing strategic plans to meet or exceed targets while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Conduct comprehensive indoor and outdoor safety inspections, evaluate hazards within JLL's operational scope, and manage high-risk work situations to ensure safe working conditions
- Oversee HSSE documentation, accident investigations with root cause analysis, and ensure timely incident reporting with effective corrective action implementation
- Direct HSSE Committees, coordinate regulatory and Client-required training programs, and implement qualification programs for JLL service partners at Client locations
- Develop, update, and enforce HSSE policies and procedures while maintaining productive relationships with Client HSSE organization and supporting account personnel on HSSE-related projects
- Manage compliant handling of Hazardous Waste and Dangerous Goods shipments where applicable, while driving initiatives that foster and strengthen the site's HSSE culture
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with HSSE compliance and management systems in facility operations environments
- Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, and related standards)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough safety inspections, hazard evaluations, and accident investigations using root cause analysis methodologies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database applications for documentation and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or related field
- Experience in biopharmaceutical, research laboratory, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of maintenance operations and facility management best practices
- Professional safety certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar credentials)
- Experience implementing and managing contractor safety qualification programs
- Familiarity with hazardous waste management, dangerous goods shipping regulations, and environmental compliance programs
- Background in developing and delivering safety training programs to diverse audiences

Work Shift: Monday - Friday, 7am to 4pm
*It requires occasional availability on weekends as well holidays, depending on the project*

Estimated compensation for this position:72,400.00 - 88,700.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
