Role Overview: HR Reporting Analyst

Arlington, VA | In office, Monday 6 Friday

Joining the Human Resources team at CoStar Group, you will contribute to the creation of a highly successful, fast paced, growth oriented, global organization. As an HR Reporting Analyst, this role will support the HR Technology & Reporting team 27s mission to deliver accurate, secure, and decision-ready workforce insights through Workday reporting, Power BI dashboards, data governance, and scalable reporting processes. This role will independently manage assigned HR reporting and data request of moderate complexity, including data discovery and collection, data cataloging, data transformation, data analysis, data visualization, and recurring reporting in support of the organization 27s overall HR Reporting objectives. This role will apply established methods and judgment to translate workforce data into clear insights, dashboards, reports, and practical recommendations for HR leaders, HR Business Partners, and business stakeholders, while escalating highly complex, ambiguous, or enterprise-wide reporting needs as appropriate.

This role will report to the Vice President of HR Technology and Reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform analysis of moderately complex and voluminous workforce data from a variety of sources, including HR systems, survey data, employment records, and other workforce datasets.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance recurring dashboards, reports, and analytics deliverables in Workday, Power BI, Excel, and related reporting platforms, including support for self-service HR analytics.
  • Collect, clean, transform, validate, and reconcile HR data to support accurate, consistent, and reliable reporting, applying established methods with limited direction on assigned deliverables.
  • Analyze and mine data from a variety of sources to identify patterns and correlations among the various data points, and summarize findings within assigned reporting areas.
  • Identify and recommend new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis, and reporting for assigned workstreams.
  • Perform queries and interpret business data requests to create efficient queries, reporting outputs, and actionable insights, seeking guidance on highly complex or ambiguous requests.
  • Support the quality and usability of HR data by applying principles of data quality management, including metadata, lineage, and business definitions, and by escalating broader data quality risks as appropriate.
  • Audit large datasets for inconsistencies, resolve routine data quality issues, and confirm reporting accuracy before stakeholder delivery.
  • Leverage AI-driven analytics tools, where appropriate, to streamline reporting, automate data validation, and improve operational efficiency within established governance expectations.
  • Communicate findings clearly through written summaries, presentations, dashboards, and stakeholder conversations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor 27s degree in business management, data science, information systems, mathematics, human resources, business administration, or a related field from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person college/university.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting, workforce analytics, HR analytics, business intelligence, or a related analytical role, including experience independently owning recurring reports or assigned analytical workstreams.
  • Experience managing sensitive and confidential data, including employee or workforce information.
  • Hands-on experience creating reports, dashboards, or recurring analytics deliverables using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Workday reporting, or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing large datasets and identifying patterns, trends, correlations, outliers, and data quality issues.
  • Experience using AI-driven analytics tools to support reporting automation, data validation, or decision support within defined business use cases.
  • Experience in applying data integration and data governance practices, with familiarity with relevant data protection and privacy regulations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative on assigned work while also working collaboratively with others in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple, detailed tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality work under time constraints.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master 27s degree in business management, data science, information systems, mathematics, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience building and maintaining reports, dashboards, visualizations, or recurring analytics deliverables using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with employee productivity data, workforce planning metrics, recruiting metrics, retention metrics, compliance reporting, or other HR datasets.
  • Hands-on experience in Workday, Teramind, HRIS platforms, SQL, Power Query, or similar reporting and analytics tools.

Base Compensation: $81,000 - $109,000 Annually
