POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Hanwha Qcells is building its first U.S. Space Photovoltaic Systems R&D team, co-located with Georgia Tech in Atlanta's Tech Square district - and we need the HR Manager who will be the day-to-day site HR leader as a part of our Global Technology HR team. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver and go-to HR team member at our Atlanta R&D site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manager Coaching & Support: Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, performance management, team effectiveness, workplace concerns, organizational changes, policy interpretation, and effective people management practices.


  • Culture, Employee Engagement & Communications: Support initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment through employee engagement activities, recognition programs, team events, and site communications.


  • Program & Initiative Support: Coordinate and support HR programs and organizational initiatives, including leadership development, talent programs, employee engagement activities, workforce planning efforts, organizational changes, and communication initiatives.


  • Recruiting & Onboarding: Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to support recruiting efforts, coordinate interviews and onboarding activities, and facilitate a positive candidate and new hire experience.


  • Employee Relations: Support employee relations matters by addressing workplace concerns, conducting investigations as needed, and assisting managers in resolving issues fairly and consistently.


  • HR Operations, Reporting & Workforce Support: Administer employee lifecycle processes, support immigration, relocation, and global mobility activities, maintain accurate HR data and records, ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices, prepare workforce and recruiting reports, track key people metrics, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external providers. Explores and adopts AI-coworking opportunities to improve effectiveness and efficiency.


  • University & Talent Partnerships: Support relationships with universities, research institutions, and external partners to strengthen recruiting pipelines, internship programs, employer branding efforts, and strategic talent initiatives.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within an agile technology, scaling operational, or fast-paced distributed environment.


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) plus 5+ years of experience. Masters degree and 3+ years of experience.


  • Execution Capabilities: Strong balance of administrative task management and process rigor, with a high degree of comfort handling routine daily workflows.


  • Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and navigate organizational ambiguity calmly.


  • Communication: Clear, empathetic, and objective verbal and written business communication skills for cross-functional stakeholder management.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supporting engineering, research and development (R&D), technology, manufacturing, or other technical organizations.


  • Experience partnering with managers on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning activities.


  • Knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR best practices.


  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and organizational change initiatives.


  • Experience coordinating immigration, relocation, or global mobility activities.


  • Experience working in a global or matrixed organization and partnering with geographically dispersed teams.


  • Proficiency with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.


  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.


  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving and global environment.


COMPENSATION:

In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the anticipated annual base salary for this position is:

  • Zone 1 (SF, NY): $117,600 - $139,000


  • Zone 2 (Irvine): $107,800 - $127,400


  • Zone 3 (Atlanta) : $98,000 - $115,000


The applicable salary range is based on the employee's primary work location. Individual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other business-related factors.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job's minimum qualifications.
