We are seeking dedicated and collaborative Hospitalists to join our team at

Sentara Obici Hospital, a 175-bed state-of-the-art facility, is located on Godwin Boulevard in Suffolk, VA. Our full-service hospital continues a legacy of providing residents of Western Tidewater with high-quality, patient-centered care. As a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, the hospital specializes in orthopedic and spine, heart and vascular, advanced imaging, gynecological and comprehensive breast services, behavioral health, maternity, weight loss surgery, and a heartburn treatment center.

Role Summary

The Hospitalist Physician provides inpatient medical care to the adult patient population, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to support quality, safety, and efficient patient flow.

Position Highlights

Day Hospitalist

  • Shifts: 184 Annual Shifts, 7a-7p

  • Schedule Model: 7 on / 7 off, block

  • Admissions: Rotational and evenly distributed amongst all providers

  • No procedures required

  • ICU Model: Open with critical care support in person 7a-7p, eICU remote support from 7p-7a

  • Vent management support by critical care team

Nocturnist

  • Shift: 182 Annual Shifts, 9p-7a

  • Coverage Model: Based on staff availability currently utilizing in-house MD and APPs. Only as last option eHub

Care Model

  • Patient Census: Average Daily Census 16

  • APP Support: Yes, only with admissions but hiring APPs to support rounding patients

Qualifications

  • MD or DO

  • Board Certified or Eligible (IM or FM), Certification must be obtained within 5 years of eligibility

  • Eligible for licensure and credentialing in Virginia
