Full Job Description
Purpose of Position
Hospice Clinical Manager has the responsibility and authority for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating patient care services and staff education related to hospice care to provide for the safety and quality of care, treatment or services. Responsible for managing the day-to-day clinical operations of the Hospice programs.

Description
  1. Oversees hospice program development including, but not limited to, staff education, data management, and implementation of appropriate clinical practice in hospice.
  2. Establish functions and qualifications for all personnel.
  3. Determine staffing needs and staffing patterns according to program requirements and with consideration for utilization of personnel at their maximum potential.
  4. Oversee compliance with personnel policies.
  5. Reviews performance of all direct reports.
  6. Responsible for program development in all areas of the hospice program.
  7. Monitor compliance with board-approved budget.
  8. Monitor day-to-day compliance with regulatory and reimbursement requirements as defined by various government agencies.
  9. Maintain compliance with all Joint Commission, state and federal regulations.
  10. Assists with initial and ongoing education of all clinical staff in hospice.
  11. Assists with the orientation, preceptorship and ongoing education of all new staff to hospice.
  12. Collaborates with other departments to develop, maintain and monitor policies and standards related to hospice activities.
  13. With clinicians and intake determines patient eligibility for care within the program guidelines established.
  14. Provide clinical expertise and serves as a resource to staff and the community.
  15. Participates in Agency Quality Improvement program.
  16. Analyzes changes in regulatory, reimbursement, hospice and palliative care program funding and recommends revisions to proposed or current policies.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or administrative experience in a home health agency, hospice or related health program.
  • Ability in program administration.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to utilize available hardware and software.
