Histology Manager

Qualifications

• Five years of hospital experience as a medical technologist.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Advanced writing skills for effective communication.
• B.S. in Medical Technology or related Science required.
• NYS DOH license is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Histology staff to ensure compliance with SOPs and accuracy.
• Coordinate workload and schedule technical staff effectively.
• Advise staff on daily workflow and maintain flexible hours for coverage.
• Perform microtomy and staining as required.
• Cut, embed, and stain frozen sections, surgical, and autopsy samples.
• Prepare solutions for special stains and perform those procedures.
• Manage statistics, quality reports, and inventory control.
