WORK OPTION: In Office
Position Summary:The Highlights Factory Lead will be a key member of the NBA's Social & Digital, Highlights Factory team, serving as the primary night-shift leader and go-to point of contact for all game-night content deliveries.
This is a nightly, in-office responsibility based in Secaucus, NJ - not eligible for remote work - requiring on-site presence during live game coverage. This role requires deep expertise across social, digital, and linear content production, and fluency across the full production toolset - EVS, Adobe, and WSC (including WSC Automation) - to lead a large team of editors and producers through live, high-volume, deadline-driven nightly production, including deciding which platforms specific content is distributed to across social, digital, and linear channels.
The ideal candidate is a decisive, experienced editorial leader who thrives in a fast-paced live environment and can troubleshoot production issues in real time across every game-night deliverable.
Major Responsibilities:- Serve as the primary point of contact and decision-maker for all game-night content, overseeing production, quality control, and real-time delivery across social, digital, and linear platforms, while maintaining brand and editorial consistency throughout.
- Lead a large team of editors and producers within the night-shift Highlights Factory crew.
- Identify and prioritize the night's key storylines (player milestones, standout performances, big moments) to ensure the team's content reflects what matters most each night.
- Coordinate across Content Creation, Automation, and EVS teams to ensure consistent, non-duplicative production, escalating technical or workflow issues to the appropriate partners as needed.
- Support Global Partnerships projects and other cross-functional priority initiatives as needed.
- Work directly with external stakeholders and media partners (e.g., NBC, ESPN, Amazon) on nightly content delivery, quality expectations, and workflow coordination.
- Flex staffing coverage across specializations and leagues (NBA/WNBA) based on nightly game schedules and season timing.
- Support automation rollout efforts (e.g., WSC-driven production automation) by providing on-the-ground feedback from nightly operations.
Required Skills/Knowledge- Deeply knowledgeable and passionate about the NBA, WNBA, and G League and their players, coaches, and teams
- Strong working knowledge of EVS, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects), and WSC (including WSC ClipPro and WSC Automation)
- Proven leadership experience managing a team in a live, deadline-driven production environment
- Strong understanding of linear broadcast delivery alongside social and digital platform requirements (NBA App, NBA.com, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, X, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit)
- Ability to make fast, sound editorial and operational decisions under pressure during live games
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate across multiple teams and tools in real time
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays on-site in Secaucus, NJ during live game coverage - this is an in-office, not remote-eligible, role
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables
Experience Needed:- 8+ years of experience in a leadership role within sports, networks, or live game-night production environments
- 8+ years of experience in video editing, content delivery, and social media production
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and EVS systems
- Experience working with or overseeing automated production workflows (e.g., WSC) a plus
- Strong understanding of linear and social media platform requirements and what performs well on each
- Portfolio of video work and/or examples of team leadership is ideal
Educational Background Required:- Bachelor's degree in Media Production, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Salary Range:$160,000 - $185,000
