The OpportunityThe Lead Smart Instrumentation (SI) Administrator leads administration, configuration, and operational support for Hexagon Smart Instrumentation (Octave Facets Instrumentation) to ensure reliable performance, data integrity, and consistent I&C deliverables. This role works with I&C engineering, project teams, engineering systems leadership, and IT to support project setup, standards, users, and high-quality instrumentation data for nuclear and other complex facilities.
The position also maintains SI configuration standards, supports upgrades and system reliability, drives administration and data practice improvements, and supports integration with Smart P&ID, Smart 3D, Smart Electrical, SmartPlant Foundation, and related enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, configure, and maintain Smart Instrumentation.
- Maintain SI standards, reference data, plant structures, naming conventions, templates, and rule sets for consistent instrumentation data.
- Manage security, access, roles, and permissions, configure deliverable standards for indexes, datasheets, loop drawings, wiring data, hook-ups, calibration data, and reports.
- Support project setup, execution, and lifecycle management with I&C engineering, delivery teams, and engineering systems leadership.
- Enable production of Instrument indexes, datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, wiring reports, junction boxes and marshaling data, and specification packages.
- Customize reports, forms, symbols, specifications, and project configurations to meet client, project, and nuclear requirements.
- Provide advanced SI user support and troubleshooting for global projects.
- Support SI integration with Smart P&ID, Smart 3D, Smart Electrical, and SmartPlant Foundation.
- Maintain configuration control, data integrity, and alignment with engineering standards and project governance.
- Support audits, reviews, and quality checks for SI configuration and instrumentation data.
- Support data validation, interface mapping, tag synchronization, and cross-platform consistency checks.
- Coordinate with IT and vendors on installations, upgrades, patches, and maintenance.Experience in using source-code and work management repositories, including Azure DevOps, Jira, or equivalent tools is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience administering Hexagon Smart Instrumentation in EPC, owner/operator, or regulated engineering environments.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle for queries, troubleshooting, and data validation.
- Strong understanding of I&C workflows, data structures, specifications, deliverables, and project execution.
- Ability to support global teams, troubleshoot complex issues, and communicate with engineering, IT, vendors, and leadership stakeholders.
- Project working experience on Smart Instrumentation to understand the core work processes, project deliverables, etc.
- Experience supporting power generation or other highly regulated infrastructure projects.
- Experience with Workshare functionality of Smart Instrumentation.
- Experience integrating Smart Instrumentation with SmartPlant Foundation and other enterprise systems.
- Relevant Hexagon Smart Instrumentation certifications are preferred.
Minimum QualificationsTypically a minimum of 5 plus years related work experience.
