Whether it's a long-haul fleet delivering essential goods or an independent owner-operator trying to make it home, our technicians' skill and expertise are what keep them moving.
We are looking for a strong, hands-on leader to oversee our HD Diesel service operations and drive team success. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, leading by example with integrity, accountability, and a focus on quality. This role is as much about culture as it is about technical skill. You will be mentoring technicians, ensuring efficient workflow, and fostering a positive shop environment where safety, respect, and pride in workmanship come first.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise, train, and mentor our team of diesel technicians to maximize productivity and quality.
- Oversee shop operations, setting priorities and assigning work to meet deadlines.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet company standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate, review, and approve repair orders, estimates, and parts needs with the service advisor.
- Maintain open communication with customers, drivers, and internal departments regarding service updates and timelines.
- Implement and monitor shop safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Conduct quality control inspections and address performance issues as needed.
- Coordinate with other shifts to maintain consistent workflow and service delivery.
- Utilize shop management software to track repairs and technician performance.
Qualifications & Skills:- Proven leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Strong diagnostic and repair knowledge in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical, and brake systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-volume and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient with various computer-based repair management systems.
- Must be safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks when necessary.
Education & Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience beyond preventative maintenance
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or lead technician experience required
- OEM/Technical Training or Equivalent Experience required
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL Preferred but not required
