Application InstructionsChaparral is seeking a Heat Trace Operations Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Southeast Heat Trace Division. This position is responsible for leading field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive electric heat trace experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
Position Description- Lead the design, installation, maintenance, and execution of electric heat trace systems while ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
- Manage daily operations for multiple heat trace projects across the Southeast region.
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, superintendents, and field crews to ensure project schedules, manpower, and resources are aligned.
- Provide technical expertise and hands-on knowledge of electric heat trace system design, installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including electric Heat Trace, Mechanical Insulation, and other specialty trades to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor project productivity, labor performance, costs, and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and under budget.
- Optimize operational processes to reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and increase system reliability.
- Track project timelines, monitor milestones, and proactively resolve issues that could impact project success.
- Prepare operational reports, productivity metrics, project updates, and performance summaries for executive leadership.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, customer specifications, quality standards, and all applicable safety regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop supervisors and field personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Support estimating, planning, and resource allocation for upcoming projects.
Position Requirements- Minimum of 5 years of experience dedicated electric heat trace experience managing industrial heat trace.
- Strong knowledge of electric heat trace systems, industrial insulation, and mechanical construction practices.
- Proven experience leading multiple projects and managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and resource planning.
- Ability to analyze operational data and develop strategies to improve performance and profitability.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Ability to travel throughout the Southeast as needed
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working in mission critical, industrial, manufacturing, petrochemical, or commercial construction environments.
- Experience with project management systems and reporting tools.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training is preferred.
