We are seeking a Head of Movie Props. This role combines individual performance responsibilities with leadership of the Movie Prop consignment team. You will personally source high-end Movie Props and Hollywood related consignments, place them into auction, and handle communications end-to-end. Additionally, you will set category strategy, hire/develop/manage Consignment Directors within Movie Props, and partner across Auction Management, Cataloging, Marketing, and Operations to grow sales and deliver a best-in-class consignor experience. A strong knowledge of Movie Props is required; high-end sales experience and/or prior Category-related work is a plus.

What you will accomplish:
  • Grow a book of business and meet/exceed quarterly goals:
    • Personally source high-end Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia consignments; review leads, create opportunities, and initiate contracts in Salesforce and Juro
    • Evaluate Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia items, authenticate (identify counterfeit vs. authentic), estimate value, set opening bids, and select optimal auction placements
    • Provide white-glove service from initial contact through post-sale, advising consignors to maximize price realization
  • Lead the Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia consignment team and consignment strategy:
    • Hire, onboard, develop, and manage Consignment Directors; coach performance and ensure goals are met
    • Define and execute Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia consignment strategy; analyze sales data and trends to refine estimated values,, lotting, and calendar plans
    • Partner with operations on updates to SOPs and standards for titles/descriptions, authentication approaches, research/editorial quality, and consignor communications
  • Drive auction readiness and listing quality:
    • Partner with Auction Management and Cataloging to ensure lots are priced, cataloged (descriptions/titles), researched, authenticated, photographed, and lotted correctly
    • Coordinate with Marketing to select hero items and plan category-specific promotion across auctions and channels
    • Review auction lineups for accuracy and impact; follow up to correct issues and optimize placement across events
  • Expand category presence and brand:
    • Represent Goldin publicly via social media, eBay Lives, Instagram Lives, trade shows, and category events as a subject-matter expert
    • Build and manage a social media presence; monitor and respond to consignment leads; regularly film content supporting auction marketing
    • Travel to consignors to review/pick up inventory; attend trade shows on behalf of Goldin (including international as needed)
  • Enable operational excellence and cross-functional alignment:
    • Kick off and track operational processes for consigned inventory; keep consignors informed on authentication, listing, and timelines
    • Collaborate with Customer Support to ensure responsive, high-quality interactions for Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia consignors and buyers


What you will bring:
  • Demonstrated expertise and passion for Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia, including at least 10 years in the broader hobby or collectibles industry; deep category knowledge and network
  • Proven ability to source consignments and sales, meet/exceed quota, and deliver high-end consignor experiences
  • Experience managing a team of sales/consignment professionals: hiring, coaching, performance management, and goal setting
  • Strong evaluation skills in Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia: authentication (counterfeit vs. authentic), valuation, auction strategy, and cataloging standards
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; adept with high-net-worth relationship management and public-facing brand representation
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Excel/Sheets, email, CRM tools, and industry-standard digital platforms; comfort with BI dashboards
  • Ability to travel regularly for trade shows and to meet consignors (including international travel as needed)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; open to candidates with equivalent experience or alternative qualifications that support success in this role


Qualification preferences:
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience specifically within Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia in the collectibles/hobby market
  • 5-7 years leading projects or initiatives across Movie Props and Entertainment related memorabilia or related categories; minimum 10 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and trends to make informed decisions
  • Proficiency in Excel, Smartsheet, or Google Sheets; familiarity with Juro for contracts is a plus as is familiarity with Salesforce

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
