Full Job Description
To support the rapid expansion of our bespoke and made-to-order offering, we are looking for a commercially driven, strategic Head of Custom to join our team in New York.

Our custom product offering represents one of our most dynamic and interesting business areas. This role owns the global growth, commercial performance, and end-to-end execution of the custom category, leading a dedicated team across sales, design support, and operations to deliver an exceptional, high-touch client experience at scale.
The Role & What You'll Do

Reporting to the CCO, the Head of Custom will act as the commercial owner and driving force behind our custom category. You will lead and coach a team of design-led sales specialists while overseeing dedicated operational workflows to ensure seamless execution from initial concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commercial Growth & Category Strategy: Own the commercial performance and growth strategy for the custom category, setting ambitious sales targets, optimizing margins, and driving revenue across both Trade and direct channels globally.
  • Team Leadership & Sales Performance: Lead, mentor, and scale a team of client-facing specialists who blend design expertise with high-performance sales execution.
  • Client Journey & Pipeline Management: Elevate the client experience for custom projects - optimizing design consultations, sampling workflows, quoting efficiency, and conversion rates.
  • Operational & Supply Chain Alignment: Partner closely with specialized production and logistics functions to streamline custom lead times, manage capacity, and ensure high quality across bespoke orders.
  • Category Development & Go-To-Market: Collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams to refine our custom offering, introduce scalable customization tools, and strengthen Nordic Knots' position in the bespoke market.
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Work closely with Finance, Commercial, and Tech teams to ensure pricing structures, systems, and client tools support rapid global scaling.

Who You Are:

Most importantly, you are a commercial driver and builder. You combine a passion for design and interior architecture with sharp business acumen, strong performance discipline, and a proven track record of scaling commercial operations in high-growth environments.

We believe you have:
  • Commercial Leadership Experience: 6+ years of commercial management or category leadership experience, ideally within premium design, luxury retail, interior architecture, DTC, or custom/made-to-order consumer goods.
  • Revenue & Sales Ownership: Proven experience driving commercial performance, setting targets, managing pipelines, and delivering strong unit economics.
  • People Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire client-facing or sales teams, coaching professionals who balance design sensibility with consultative selling.
  • Custom / High-Touch Operations: Understanding of bespoke or made-to-order product dynamics, with the ability to balance high-touch customer service with efficient, scalable processes.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: High agency, strong execution drive, and enthusiasm for scaling a key commercial engine within a fast-growing global brand.
  • Fluency: Excellent written and spoken in English.
What The Role Offers
  • The opportunity to lead and scale a multi-functional team across client management and execution.
  • High visibility and direct partnership with executive leadership.
  • An international, fast-paced environment with a passionate, collaborative team.
