Job DescriptionPosition Summary
Responsible for drawing up accurate financial statements as per Swiss GAAP and local GAAP. Ensure that the accounting policies are adhered to and all BS & PL figures represent the correct state of financial affairs of the entity. Coordinate with other verticals of finance for timely closure of books of accounts and reporting
Essential Functions
- Supervise the activities of subordinates possibly in multiple locations.
- Review accounts receivable, accounts payable & general accounting documents prepared by subordinates for accuracy, completeness and conformance to policy; authorizes payments.
- Create and implement changes to work assignments, methods, or procedures to meet operational needs, improve accuracy and efficiency of the general accounting system.
- Analyze, resolve and answer complex or difficult problems presented by subordinates and others.
- Formulate, recommend, and implement changes to company policy or procedure to ensure integrity of the general accounting system; interprets policy and advises management of appropriate changes to policies and procedures.
- Recommend modifications to existing system and implements modifications through coordination with all units involved in the financial accounting system
- Ensure accurate entry of transactions to accounting system
- Review statistical reports submitted by staff to monitor activities, anticipate problems and ensure accurate recording of transactions submitted to financial systems.
- Support Production Controlling in regards to Controlling and Reporting questions and in executing efficiency and defined processes and guidelines.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Knowledge of principles, practices, regulations, and procedures as they relate to purchasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and methods as they apply to financial statements.
• Knowledge of the application of data processing techniques to accounting systems.
• Skill in preparing accurate and complete financial reports from accounting records.
• Skill in both verbal and written communication
• Knowledge in SAP or similar accounting system (FICO)
Education / Experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required (Master's degree preferred)
• 5+ years' experience as a certified public accountant recommended
• 10+years' experience in an accounting leadership role
• Exceptional leadership abilities
• Strong budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills required
