Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and direct the drilling crew

  • Manage site safety, including hazard planning and emergency response
  • Account for crew performance and outcomes on the rig

What You'll Do

  • Lead, train, and direct the drilling crew
  • Run safe, efficient HDD operations from mobilization through tear-down
  • Monitor drilling and equipment performance to keep the operation on target
  • Own safety on site - from hazard planning to emergency response
  • Take responsibility for your crew's performance and the outcomes on your rig


What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience on a horizontal directional drilling rig (40K-220K rigs, Vermeer preferred)
  • Proven leadership - you know how to run a crew and bring out their best
  • A strong commitment to safety - for yourself and everyone on your crew
  • Strong communication and the ability to work well with internal and external partners
  • Physically fit and comfortable performing labour-intensive work in all outdoor weather conditions
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license required
  • Safety tickets: SFA (Standard/Intermediate First Aid), H2S Alive, GDII, PCST, CSTS 2020
  • 12-hour rotating day/night shifts, with rotations
  • Willingness to travel to job sites across Western Canada
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol testing
