The Hardware Design Engineer that will be responsible for the
design and development of various embedded systems,
including both hardware and some firmware design. The engineer will have a detailed knowledge of the product functional specification, will conduct design reviews, and resolve product design issues. The candidate should have minimum 3-5 years of engineering work experience and an understanding of embedded hardware and software design.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Developing/reviewing project work plans
- Generate functional specifications based on product requirements
- Generate design specifications
- Resolve issues found during the product development cycle
- Participate in design reviews
To succeed in this role, you will need to have the following skills and experience:- Embedded hardware and software design
- Working understanding of CAN and LIN vehicle networks
- Knowledge of embedded RTOS and / or Embedded Linux systems
- Experience with embedded systems debugging (JTAG/UART/Oscilloscopes/Logic Analyzers)
- Experience with electronics CAD systems (Altium experience a plus)
- PCB design of complex multi-layer circuit boards
- Github experience required
- Familiarity with CAN analysis software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Friendly and flexible team player
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- 2+ years of experience in embedded hardware and/or software design
- 2+ years of vehicle network (CAN/LIN) experience
- This position is located in our Farmington Hills, MI office, this is not a remote or hybrid position. No relocation assistant provided.
