Responsibilities

The Advanced System Developer provides knowledge in design, architecture, development and administration. Monitors existing systems for structural integrity and oversees the development and installation of new hardware and software. Installs and configures operating systems, other software and routinely test installed software for error detection and other issues. Writes custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention and create automated solutions for the GSC Portal. This position establishes multi-platform versions of the software package and write tests for existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide development support to the current GSC Portal web developments.
  • Build and maintain a suite of applications to deliver the metrics, performance measurement, and alerts Dashboard. This includes the maintenance of a test and production environment.
  • Maintain a thorough change log in MHSSHD for all updates to the GSC supported websites.
  • Test all updates to the site and gain appropriate approval prior to promoting the change into production.
  • Leverage industry best practice system development techniques as well as system life cycle development methodology to maintain the development environment.
  • Work with various departments to identify and capture new requirements
  • Analyze existing manual reporting activities and apply automation techniques to drive GSC operational efficiencies.
  • Coordinate with groups as necessary to provide details necessary for RMF certification and accreditation of the GSC Portal developed tools.
  • Work special projects as required and maintain application system documentation
  • Maintain and support Enterprise platform across network, application, and database tiers
  • Ability to develop and maintain Robotic Process Automation (RPA) processes utilizing UiPath
  • Analyze existing manual reporting activities and apply automation techniques to drive Service Center efficiencies
  • Leverage industry best practice system development techniques as well as system life cycle development and agile methodology to maintain the development environment
  • Build and maintain a suite of applications to deliver the metrics, performance measurement, and alerts Dashboard. This includes the maintenance of a test, COOP, and production environment

  • Demonstrated database schema, data query building, and data analytics skills. Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio and SQL Server preferred
  • OO programming principles/design patterns a plus
  • Experienced in utilizing GitLab or other versioning systems
  • Experience with Visual Studio Code Development environment
  • Ability to integrate/develop web application functionality via APIs to various enterprise endpoints


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; 12 years if experience with a high school diploma
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Public Trust Clearance/ or ability to obtain one
  • Primary work locations in San Antonio, TX, and Falls Church, VA. Remote work may be considered in special cases when approved by the customer
  • 6+ years enterprise level website production experience using a variety of software development languages and scripting: ColdFusion CFML, CSS, HTML, Java, JavaScript, AWS Lambda, SQL, AWS DynamoDB, UiPath, or C#
  • Current active IAT II certification (Security+) with related Computing Environment (CE) certification(s) to comply with DoW 8570 and DoD 8140.03 requirements
  • Able to provide functional examples of code and/or application design

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiar with and/or certified in ITIL4
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow (MHSSHD) ITSM ticketing system (preferred) Experience working within Military Health environments


Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
