Full Job Description
Description

ABOUT THIS ROLE

This is a zero-to-one role. Almost all Xe revenue comes from money-transfer margin. We reach tens of millions of people at a moment of high intent - about to travel, about to pay an invoice overseas, about to make an international purchase on card - and we do not know which adjacent products they would buy, or how much of our revenue could come from something that is not a transfer. Your job is to find out cheaply, then earn the first revenue that is not a transfer. Not a better version of what we sell today. A new line.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

What you will own

  • A portfolio of tests, not a roadmap. Run several concepts at once at low cost. The portfolio is the unit of work; no single bet is precious.
  • Demand validation. Design the cheapest test that produces a signal you would stake a decision on - landing pages, pre-orders, concierge and manual delivery, partner pilots. Production code is the last resort, not the first.
  • The economics. Model what each concept needs to be viable, then find out whether it can get there. A clear no in six weeks is a good outcome and a cheap one.
  • Build or partner. Most adjacent products are faster to test with a partner than to build. Own that assessment and the partner conversations behind it.
  • A recurring proposition. Design, price and test a paid tier for repeat currency users. You own pricing and packaging, including the willingness-to-pay work behind it - and it earns its keep on tools, not on discounted rates.
  • The handover. Produce a recommendation the business can act on, with the evidence attached. Proven propositions go to Product or Revenue to own and scale.

Examples of what you might build

Illustrative, not committed. What actually gets built is decided by evidence.
  • Validate demand with a landing page and pre-orders before any production code is written.
  • Run a concierge test where the product is delivered manually to a small group.
  • Pilot an adjacent product with a partner rather than building it. For example, a product aimed at people converting currency shortly before they travel.
  • Package existing tools into a paid tier and test what people will actually pay for it.
  • Model unit economics to a clear go or no-go threshold and publish the answer either way.

What success looks like

  • Revenue from products that are not money transfer, as a share of total revenue.
  • First measurable revenue from a non-transfer product - the number that proves the line exists.
  • Concepts validated or killed per quarter. Throughput of learning matters more than hit rate.
  • Cost and time per validated learning, falling quarter on quarter.
  • Every surviving concept carries stress-tested unit economics.
  • At least one proposition per year handed to Product or Revenue with a documented case.

Who you are

  • You have taken products from zero to one, and you have killed your own ideas on evidence.
  • You have owned pricing or packaging - you have set a price, run willingness-to-pay research and lived with the answer.
  • You can run a concierge or manual test without shipping production code.
  • You are comfortable with partner-led launches and can assess a partner's economics and reliability.
  • You have worked near regulated products and bring in legal and compliance early rather than late.
  • You are unbothered by a high failure rate and rigorous about learning from it.

About the Growth team

Growth is a centralized team working on the problems Xe has globally. Our mandate is to discover and prove the next wave of growth - testing new acquisition channels, building products that compound the audience we already have, and validating new propositions before the business commits to them.

We are not here for incremental gains. Optimizing what already works is the job of the teams who run it. Growth exists to find multipliers - a new channel rather than a better campaign, a different funnel rather than a tuned one, a product that changes the economics rather than a percentage point on the current ones. Most of what we try will fail, and the portfolio is judged on the few that do not.

Growth does not operate what it proves. Once a channel, product or motion is predictable, repeatable and documented, it hands over to Marketing, Pricing or Revenue to run - and we go and find the next one. That handover is the success condition for this function, not a loss of scope.

How we work

  • Loops over funnels. We look for mechanisms that compound rather than channels that need constant topping up.
  • Evidence over opinion. Every initiative carries a hypothesis, a measurement plan agreed with data engineering, and a written readout - including the negatives.
  • Small teams, short cycles. One PM, one engineer, and whatever design and data support the test needs.
  • Direct line to Product. When a proven change needs building into the core product, that is a conversation with Product, not a hand-built parallel system.
