GROUP PRESIDENT OF SALES

About The Job
The Group President of Sales will be a key senior Company executive, who is expected to inspire, lead and grow our retail, e-commerce, and wholesale sales across multiple distribution channels, brands/labels, price points and product categories. As a prime contributor to the overall growth and success of the company, this role will focus on leading the development and implementation of plans to grow existing accounts and develop new accounts, and effectively aligning product development and our manufacturing strengths with market trends. We are seeking a strategic leader with strong business acumen who thinks about the big picture and can build a scalable, product focused sales strategy while leading disparate, high performing teams. The ideal candidate will be a business-person with exceptional sales management experience, deep knowledge of wholesale and retail apparel sales and the innate ability to track current and evolving fashion trends.

How You'll Make A Difference
  • Direct report to the CEO, responsible for wholesale sales and product strategy, development and execution.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a sales strategy for existing and new retailer customers, taking into account evolving market trends, Company strengths and the competitor landscape.
  • Lead the development of an account segmentation strategy for market(s), channels, categories, products and brands to grow existing retailer accounts and expand into new opportunities.
  • Actively pursue and evaluate new opportunities for growth via Licensing Partnerships and Brand Acquisition.
  • Mentor and lead multiple the heads of each sales division, as direct reports.
  • Participate, as necessary, in negotiating contract terms and agreements that drive profitable sales growth for the company.
  • Work with sales teams to develop and meet key performance indicators, and ensure that brand positioning within an account/distribution channel aligns with the segmentation strategy and overall brand messaging.
  • Lead the sales organization in the creation of the Annual Business Plan and Strategic Plan.
  • Highlight the risks and opportunities for achieving revenue and profitability targets, and identify the resources needed to support different aspects of the sales organization.
  • Provide input based on last year results trends, SWOTs (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats), customer feedback, etc. to determine product assortments for upcoming seasons.
  • Identify and direct the organization to pursue high priority sales targets and to address channel and customer needs and opportunities.
  • Obtain and provide market feedback, product planning and competitive insights and other relevant information.
  • Build enthusiasm with the sales team to grow the skill base of the individuals and generate a "can do" spirit towards growth


You'll Have

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field highly preferred (e.g. Marketing, Business)
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior sales management experience with significant experience working within and among the executive level in a multi-channel, multi-brand organization.
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and category development across multiple channels, brands and consumer segments.
  • Strong financial acumen, business analytical abilities and understanding of the drivers of profitability both for the company and its customers. Balanced approach to revenue and volume generation, risk management and bottom-line delivery. Capable of executing short-term (tactical) and long term (strategic) plans. Able to translate strategy into practical action. P&L management experience.
  • Ability to identify future business opportunities or risks and to develop strategies to address.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify competitor and retail changes which may impact our business.
  • Experience leading sales teams on all metrics including daily, monthly and annual revenue. targets, account development, inventory levels, and delivering required gross margin.
  • Successful track record building, managing, developing and retaining teams and attracting talent.
  • Successful experience in a fast paced, growing and less structured company environment.
  • Established, proven relationships/contacts with, and experience in, wholesale sales to mass and discount apparel retailers and department stores.
  • High energy and low ego, and a strong sense of "shop floor management" (i.e., a willingness to engage in all aspects of operations to identify areas for improvement).
  • Ability to keep others focused on the most important metrics of the business. A leader who sets high standards of performance and inspires others to perform at their best and rigorously builds the team.
  • Basic familiarity with the mechanics of garment construction and manufacturing processes sufficient to identify opportunities for improvements and/or cost savings.
  • Experience with China based supply chain and working with China based manufacturing teams.
  • Product and enterprise-based vision, together with the ability to articulate, plan and execute.
