New Graduate | Process EngineerGreen Hydrogen | Electrolyzer Manufacturing | Entry LevelBurlington, MA (Greater Boston) • On-Site • Full-Time • Start January or June 2027
THE OPPORTUNITYWe are hiring an entry-level Process Engineer from the Class of 2027 to join our electrolyzer manufacturing team. This role is built specifically for new college graduates - you will complete your degree in December 2026 or May 2027 and start with us in January 2027 or summer 2027.
You won't be watching from the sidelines. From your first months, you will own real parts of how our electrolyzer stacks are built - writing the procedures, mapping the process, and solving problems on the production floor - working side by side with experienced process, mechanical, quality, materials, and electrochemistry engineers. It's a rare chance to launch your engineering career on a clean energy technology that is being scaled right now, where your work directly shapes how it gets made.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Support process and manufacturing engineering for electrolyzer stack assembly, from incoming components to finished stacks.
- Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process flow diagrams (PFDs) that production teams use every day.
- Partner with the Quality team to define inspection criteria and test methods for incoming parts and assembled stacks.
- Troubleshoot production issues and take part in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (RCA / CAPA).
- Collect and analyze process data to improve yield, cycle time, throughput, and reliability.
- Work with design engineers to improve stack and component designs for manufacturability (DFM).
- Collaborate with materials scientists and chemists on new process development and scale-up.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects (5S, standard work, waste reduction).
- Travel occasionally (up to 15%), including internationally, to work with Envision's global engineering and manufacturing teams.
WHAT YOU'LL GAIN- Real ownership early: meaningful projects on a production line, not just support tasks.
- Cross-functional exposure: process, quality, design, materials, and electrochemistry - all in one role.
- Clean energy scale-up experience: a front-row seat taking green hydrogen technology from development to industrial production.
- Global perspective: collaborate with Envision teams and sites around the world.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORRequired- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Electrical/Electromechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related field - completed between December 2026 and May 2027.
- Hands-on engineering experience through internships, co-ops, research labs, senior design / capstone projects, or engineering student teams.
- Solid engineering fundamentals (e.g., thermodynamics, materials, mechanical design, or electrochemistry).
- Clear written and verbal communication, including writing technical documentation.
- Curious, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on lab and production environment.
- Genuine interest in clean energy, hydrogen, or climate technology.
Nice to Have (not required - if you meet most of the above, we encourage you to apply)
- Coursework, research, or project experience with electrochemistry, fuel cells, electrolyzers, or batteries.
- Exposure to manufacturing or process engineering tools such as SOPs, process flow diagrams, FMEA, SPC, or design of experiments (DOE).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma (coursework or Green Belt).
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks or similar) and/or data analysis tools (Excel, Python, MATLAB, JMP, or Minitab).
- Experience with quality inspection, metrology, or GD&T.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS- Base salary:$85,000 - $105,000 annually. Placement within the range depends on degree level (Bachelor's vs. Master's), skills, and relevant experience.
- Bonus: eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus of up to 15% of base salary.
- Health: medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% employer-paid premiums - no paycheck deductions for your coverage.
- Retirement: 401(k) with company match.
- Time off: generous PTO, 8 federal holidays + 4 floating holidays, and paid sick leave.
- Family: paid parental leave; Flexible Spending Accounts for medical and dependent care.
- Protection: basic and optional life insurance; short- and long-term disability insurance.
- Relocation: relocation assistance will be considered for the right candidate.
