The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Director of Behavioral Health serves as a core faculty member within the residency program and provides strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Behavioral Health curriculum. This position plays a vital role in supporting resident education, professional development, wellness, and resilience while ensuring alignment with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements and best practices.
The GME Director of Behavioral Health collaborates closely with residency leadership, faculty, and interdisciplinary teams to provide behavioral health education, clinical supervision, consultation, assessment, and support services for medical residents. The successful candidate will be a passionate educator, mentor, and advocate for resident well-being, contributing to a culture of excellence, inclusion, and lifelong learning across the health system.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Doctorate degree in Psychology.
2. Master’s degree – for behavioralist with GME experience.
1. Strong clinical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse population.
2. Experience in a GME program is preferred.
3. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
4. Commitment to ethical and culturally responsive practice.

Pay TransparencyCentral Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $131,518 to $164,424. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
