Please review the job details below.Lanteris Space LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intuitive Machines, is seeking an entry-level Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to provide general support to our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to design, analyze, and test features that support our core GNC algorithms and orbital analysis for various spacecraft missions.
Responsibilities:Technical Analysis & Support:
- Assist with analysis of spacecraft attitude control system performance
- Support simulation and modeling of GNC algorithms
- Analyze telemetry data from on-orbit spacecraft
Design & Development:
- Support development of GNC flight software components
- Assist with MATLAB/Simulink model development and validation
- Create technical documentation and analysis reports
- Develop test scripts and automation tools
Testing & Validation:
- Support GNC hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing activities
- Assist with sensor modeling (gyroscopes, star trackers, magnetometers, etc.)
- Assist with actuator modeling (reaction wheels, CMGs, magnetic torque rods, thrusters)
- Help prepare test procedures and data analysis scripts
- Document test results and anomalies
Collaboration & Learning:
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Flight Software, Systems Engineering, etc.)
- Present findings to engineering teams
- Learn from senior engineers and develop professional skills
Minimum Requirements:- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Bachelor's degree or higher for Aerospace (Space), Astronautics, Mechanical (Dynamics), Electrical (Controls), Physics (Astrodynamics, Orbits), Applied Math or related field
- 2 years of related industry experience, or Master's degree
- Academic background in GNC, controls, or orbital mechanics
- Demonstrated interest in spacecraft systems
Preferred Qualifications:- Relevant internship or research experience
- Coursework or projects involving GNC systems
- Familiarity with C/C++/MATLAB/Simulink/Python
Technical Skills:- Knowledge of or willingness to learn: C/C++/MATLAB/Simulink/Python/Julia
- Familiarity with Git/Gitlab-Github, Linux/Windows, AWS Pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $94,000.00 - $156,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
