SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented Global Sr. Manager, Procurement to lead and advance procurement operations across a growing global medical device organization.
This leader will develop and execute sourcing strategies that ensure uninterrupted supply, drive cost competitiveness, improve supplier performance, mitigate risk, and support innovation across a complex and highly regulated global manufacturing network.
The ideal candidate combines strong strategic sourcing expertise with operational execution, thriving in a fast-paced environment undergoing global growth and transformation. This role will collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Engineering, Finance, and Executive Leadership to build a scalable procurement function that delivers measurable business value.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Develop and execute a global procurement strategy aligned with corporate growth, manufacturing, and supply chain objectives.
- Lead procurement activities across critical direct material categories and select indirect categories including automation, capital equipment and manufacturing technologies.
- Create category strategies that balance cost, quality, supply assurance, innovation, and sustainability priorities.
- Build multi-year sourcing roadmaps that support business expansion, supply continuity and margin improvement initiatives.
- Deliver exceptional contract management through standardization and optimization.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Drive a proactive global supplier performance management process, including supplier scorecards, corrective action programs, quarterly business reviews and continuous improvement.
- Improve supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness, capacity, and innovation.
- Develop valuable strategic partnerships that provide competitive advantage and support future growth.
Cost Reduction & Value Creation
- Deliver annual productivity targets through:
- Strategic sourcing
- Commercial negotiations
- Value engineering
- Supplier consolidation
- Global sourcing optimization
- Contract management
- Identify and execute opportunities to improve total cost of ownership.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to support design-to-value initiatives.
Supply Risk Management
- Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies for critical supply categories.
- Establish dual-source and regionalized sourcing strategies where appropriate.
- Monitor geopolitical, financial, operational, and regulatory risks across the supply base.
- Lead supplier business continuity planning initiatives.
Medical Device Compliance & Quality
- Ensure procurement practices comply with:
- FDA regulations
- ISO 13485
- GMP requirements
- Corporate policies
- Supplier Quality standards
- Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams on supplier qualification, audits, validations, and remediation activities.
- Support regulatory inspections and supplier compliance initiatives.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Partner with R&D and Engineering during product development.
- Identify and qualify suppliers for new technologies and materials with focus on continuity of supply and competitive pricing.
- Ensure procurement readiness for product launches and global commercialization efforts.
- Accelerate speed-to-market while maintaining compliance and cost objectives.
Procurement Excellence & Digital Transformation
- Drive implementation of best-in-class procurement processes and tools.
- Enhance spend visibility, supplier analytics, and procurement reporting.
- Leverage technology and automation to improve procurement efficiency and decision-making.
Team Leadership
- Build, develop, and mentor a high-performing global procurement organization.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Lead change management initiatives across procurement and supply chain functions.
- Develop succession plans and talent pipelines to support organizational growth.

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
- 3+ years leading procurement teams within a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing global supplier networks.
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract management expertise.
- Demonstrated success delivering multi-million-dollar cost reduction programs.
- Experience supporting highly regulated industries (medical device, pharmaceutical, life sciences, aerospace, automotive, or similar).
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Experience working within ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or equivalent.
- This position is on-site four days/week.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 10% of time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical device industry experience.
- Master's degree (MBA or related field).
- CPSM, CSCP, CPM, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience supporting global manufacturing operations across North America, Europe, and Asia.
- Experience leading procurement transformation initiatives.
- Multilingual capability (Spanish/English preferred).
