Full Job Description
The Global Public Affairs Manager helps strengthen Schneider Electric's Public Affairs capability worldwide by connecting colleagues, sharing expertise, and developing the tools, resources, and ways of working that enable teams to build trusted stakeholder relationships and protect the company's license to operate.

Based in Boston, the role connects the Global Public Affairs team with colleagues across Schneider Electric's markets, bringing together insights, facilitating collaboration, and supporting the development of effective approaches to stakeholder engagement.

The role contributes to global initiatives that strengthen the function's effectiveness, visibility, and impact, while ensuring that insights and experience from across the organization inform the evolution of Schneider Electric's global Public Affairs agenda.

This is a high-visibility opportunity for an experienced Public Affairs professional to work across geographies and functions, contribute to strategic global initiatives, and help shape how the Public Affairs function operates and delivers value across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Global Public Affairs Capability Building
  • Assess capability, resource, and operating-model needs across the global Public Affairs network, in partnership with regional and market colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain practical playbooks, templates, and guidance for stakeholder engagement, relationship management, engagement planning, partnership mapping, and impact measurement.
  • Lead briefings, workshops, and onboarding sessions to strengthen Public Affairs capabilities and share effective practices across markets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Public Affairs tools, processes, and ways of working across the global network.
  • Support markets with varying levels of Public Affairs maturity by facilitating knowledge-sharing and access to relevant resources and expertise.
  1. Global Projects and Cross-Market Collaboration
  • Serve as a connector between the Global Public Affairs team and colleagues across Schneider Electric's markets, facilitating the exchange of insights, expertise, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-market collaboration on issues affecting Schneider Electric's stakeholder relationships, reputation, and broader business environment.
  • Lead assigned global Public Affairs projects end-to-end, including planning, stakeholder coordination, delivery, and reporting.
  • Maintain a repository of market case studies, stakeholder engagement practices, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement across the network.
  • Facilitate collaboration between markets when stakeholder groups, business priorities, or reputational considerations extend beyond national or regional boundaries.
  • Support the Global Director in advancing initiatives that strengthen the connectivity, effectiveness, and visibility of the global Public Affairs function.
  1. Stakeholder and External Environment Insights
  • Monitor broader business, societal, geopolitical, and reputational developments that may affect Schneider Electric's stakeholder environment and license to operate.
  • Bring together relevant insights from across markets to identify common themes, emerging stakeholder expectations, and opportunities for cross-border collaboration.
  • Translate complex developments into practical insights that support stakeholder engagement, corporate reputation, and Public Affairs planning.
  • Prepare stakeholder briefings, engagement insights, landscape assessments, and strategic recommendations for global leadership and relevant colleagues.
  • Draw on expertise from market teams and relevant subject-matter owners to strengthen the global understanding of emerging stakeholder dynamics.
  • Identify and share external developments, innovative approaches, and emerging practices that may enhance the effectiveness of Schneider Electric's Public Affairs network.
  1. Cross-Functional Partnership and Integrated Engagement
  • Partner with Media Relations, Executive Positioning, Crisis Communications, market Public Affairs and Government Affairs teams, and relevant business functions to support coordinated engagement on issues of shared importance.
  • Support alignment of stakeholder engagement and corporate reputation initiatives across functions and markets.
  • Work with the Global Director and relevant colleagues to connect global initiatives with the expertise and experience of market teams.
  • Contribute to integrated responses to emerging stakeholder and reputational issues that require collaboration across functions and geographies.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration between Public Affairs and adjacent corporate functions, ensuring that relevant perspectives are brought together in support of Schneider Electric's broader priorities.
  1. Global Network Engagement
  • Build trusted working relationships with Public Affairs and Government Affairs colleagues across regions and markets.
  • Act as a two-way connector, bringing global resources, insights, and opportunities to colleagues while ensuring that market experience informs the evolution of the global Public Affairs function.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing, peer learning, and collaboration across the global network.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communication, coordination, and effectiveness across the Public Affairs community.
  • Support the Global Director in strengthening the operating model, visibility, and impact of the global Public Affairs function.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Public Affairs, corporate affairs, stakeholder engagement, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional, cross-market, or agency contributors.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across geographies and organizational boundaries.
  • Strong judgment, with the ability to work independently, navigate a matrixed organization, and recognize when to escalate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex developments into clear, actionable insights.
  • High discretion and composure when handling confidential or time-sensitive matters.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Preferred
  • Experience working across multiple markets or in a global or matrixed organization.
  • Experience connecting local or regional insights to broader organizational priorities.
  • Experience developing Public Affairs tools, training, or capability-building programs.
  • Familiarity with Public Affairs measurement, evaluation, and data-driven reporting.
  • Experience supporting markets with varying levels of Public Affairs maturity.
  • Experience in the energy, industrial, infrastructure, or related sectors.
  • Experience working across Public Affairs, Government Affairs, Communications, or related corporate functions.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
