About the Opportunity

The Global Principal Enterprise Architect (Data & AI) plays a senior, strategic role in TMHD's global architecture function. You will act as both a thought leader and a practical partner to Group Companies (GCs) around the world, supporting them to define, mature, and execute their Target Architectures.

In addition to your broad Enterprise Architecture responsibilities, you will have a special focus on Data and AI and will have a remit to drive enabling business value from data, ensuring governance and stewardship, and helping shape responsible and secure use of artificial intelligence across the Group.

At a global level, you will help direct collaboration and best practice through participating in the Global EA Subcommittee and global working groups, and through engaging with GC architects and executives to translate strategy into actionable architecture outcomes. This role blends influence, expertise, and enablement - balancing global direction with local autonomy.

This role requires close engagement with technology, data, and business leaders across multiple regions and entities to ensure our collective capabilities evolve in a consistent and value-driven way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a senior member of the Global EA leadership team, supporting TMHD's strategy for maturing architecture across Group Companies
  • Provide advisory support to GCs in developing and evolving their Target Architectures, ensuring they are business-aligned, practical, and value-driven
  • Lead and contribute to EA Subcommittees and Working Groups, particularly in Data Strategy, Analytics, and AI Governance
  • Shape enterprise-level viewpoints on data and AI including architecture patterns, principles, and guardrails for use across diverse GC environments
  • Partner with CIOs, CDOs, and data leaders to promote responsible AI adoption, shared capability development, and data ethics frameworks
  • Facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing across TMHD's federated architecture community, connecting best practices and lessons learned
  • Support the evolution of TMHD's global frameworks, best practice guides and Starter Kits that allow GCs to have a starting point for developing their EA services
  • Contribute to Group-level initiatives such as the Data and AI Subcommittee
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and informal guidance to GC architects and contributors to strengthen the global EA network

Experience and Qualifications:
  • 10 years proven, extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture or related strategic technology roles, ideally in insurance, financial services, or large diversified enterprises
  • 5 years' experience working within federated, diversified, or multi-entity organisations where collaboration and influence are key to success
  • Good understanding of data architecture, AI/ML strategy, and data governance frameworks
  • Proven ability to influence senior business and IT leaders and drive alignment across global and federated organisations
  • Experience shaping enterprise-level viewpoints that balance autonomy and consistency across business units
  • Demonstrable success in defining and communicating Target Architectures, Roadmaps and other key EA artefacts at conceptual and logical levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging executive and technical audiences
  • TOGAF, DAMA, or equivalent certification an advantage
  • Experience with LeanIX an advantage
  • Experience as a Chief Architect, Head of Architecture or similar leadership role an advantage

Personal Attributes
  • Collaborative, diplomatic, and culturally aware - able to build trust across geographies and business models
  • Pragmatic and outcome-oriented, with a focus on helping others succeed rather than enforcing standards
  • Curious and innovative, with the ability to translate complex technology topics into actionable insights
  • Confident in ambiguous environments; comfortable leading through influence
  • Committed to TMHD's ethos of long-term partnership, integrity, and collective growth - embodying what it means to be a Good Company

Salary range $165,000 to $210,000. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
