Position Overview

[The Global Freight Procurement Category Manager will lead strategic sourcing and category management initiatives across transportation and logistics, primarily supporting North America while partnering with stakeholders across EMEA, LATAM, and APAC. This role will manage sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, competitive sourcing events, negotiations, and transportation spend analytics across Parcel, LTL, Truckload, Ocean, Air, Rail, and 3PL services. The role will have a direct impact on cost savings, productivity, service levels, supplier performance, and network optimization, directly supporting Global Procurement and Supply Chain MBOs.

What you'll do
  • Develop and execute transportation and logistics category and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and supply chain priorities.
  • Lead and support end-to-end sourcing events, including market analysis, RFI/RFP execution, supplier evaluation, negotiations, award recommendations, and contract implementation.
  • Manage transportation supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, service levels, contractual terms, and performance commitments across multiple transportation modes.
  • Analyze transportation spend, shipment data, lanes, cost drivers, and market conditions to identify savings, productivity, and network optimization opportunities.
  • Partner with Logistics, Supply Chain Planning, Customer Service, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to develop and implement enterprise-wide logistics initiatives.
  • Leverage procurement technologies, market intelligence platforms such as Xeneta and DAT, digital sourcing tools, benchmarking solutions, and AI-enabled analytics to improve decision-making and workflow efficiency.
  • Develop business cases and scenario/sensitivity analyses to support sourcing initiatives, carrier portfolio decisions, and transportation network optimization.
  • Monitor category performance, supplier KPIs, savings, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting S&OP and transportation escalation management.

Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience across procurement, transportation, logistics operations, consulting, supply chain, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct transportation or logistics procurement experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading sourcing events, negotiations, and contracting across multiple transportation modes.
  • Strong strategic sourcing and category management capabilities with an understanding of transportation market dynamics and supplier economics.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills, including experience developing business cases, financial models, and scenario analyses.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, procurement systems, e-sourcing platforms, and transportation spend analysis tools.
  • Experience using digital sourcing tools, market intelligence platforms, benchmarking solutions, and/or AI-enabled analytics.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence through data-driven recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, continuous-improvement mindset, and ability to work effectively within a global matrixed organization.
