Overview

Global Category Manager - Logistics & Packaging Location: Remote (US) | Eastern Time Zone Preferred The RoleThis is a global category leadership position with ownership of both Logistics and Packaging spend.You'll develop category strategies, lead sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and operational teams across multiple regions. One day you might be negotiating freight agreements across several continents. The next, you'll be reviewing packaging solutions that improve efficiency, sustainability, and overall cost.We're looking for someone who can comfortably switch between strategic thinking and practical execution, and who understands how closely logistics and packaging work together within a manufacturing environment. 

 

Responsibilities

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute global category strategies across Logistics and Packaging.
  • Lead strategic sourcing activity covering transportation, freight, warehousing, customs, packaging materials, and packaging suppliers. 
  • Manage relationships with logistics providers, including 3PL and 4PL partners, as well as key packaging suppliers. 
  • Negotiate global and regional agreements that deliver value, improve service levels, and strengthen supply chain resilience. 
  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and procurement teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise packaging specifications, reduce waste, and support sustainability goals.
  • Drive supplier performance, continuous improvement initiatives, and category governance.
  • Assess and mitigate commercial and supply chain risks across both categories.
  • Lead cross-functional procurement projects from strategy through to implementation

 

Qualifications

About You
  • Proven procurement or category management experience within Logistics, Packaging, or ideally both.
  • Strong category expertise across freight, transportation, warehousing, customs, and logistics services.
  • Demonstrable experience sourcing and managing packaging categories, including supplier selection, commercial negotiation, and cost optimisation.
  • Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and delivering measurable business value.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering savings and operational improvements.
  • Comfortable working within a global manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Able to influence stakeholders across functions, regions, and levels of seniority.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating remotely whilst staying closely connected to the business.
