The Maintenance GPM will provide support to Maintenance team during the second shift. The working schedule will be from 4:00 pm - 1:30 am. The Maintenance GPM will help maximize equipment availability by reducing mechanical downtime, prioritizing repairs, and assist with special projects for the facility.
Job Duties- The General Production Manager (GPM) is responsible for overseeing the various department(s) of responsibility and for meeting Department/Company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety.
- Responsible for the development and training of Supervisors and Team members, working within the guidelines of Company Policies, to meet the current and future needs of the Company.
- Responsible for quick and timely feedback to Plant/Shift Manager on all exceptions regarding productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety, and managing the correction of areas which are out of acceptable parameters.
- Ensure department compliance within Company policies, law, and regulations which include USDA, SSOP and HACCP programs, and all OSHA required safety programs.
- Ensure the safety of our Team members is maintained by overseeing the administration of safety orientations, training, and meetings as required, to assist in attaining zero incidents.
- Participate in department meetings in the planning process, along with the testing and development of techniques/processes.
- Ensure proper maintenance of Company assets; make recommendations for acquiring necessary items to support business objectives.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Must have a minimum of five years of experience in the poultry processing industry with progressively increased responsibility.
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to evaluate supervision fairly and objectively.
- Must exhibit strong leadership skills/internal drive to succeed.
- Must be able to prioritize and adjust quickly to a changing work environment with minimal supervision, to meet changing production needs.
- Must have advanced problem-solving skills and be able to make independent decisions.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
