Full Job Description
Job Summary (including but not limited to the following: other duties may be assigned)
Has overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of multiple fossil power production facilities or plants, leads, directs, and controls the day-to-day activities to achieve the short and medium-term financial and operating objectives set by the overall organization business plan. Specific responsibilities include overall human resources responsibility for supervisory leadership, operations and maintenance personnel and all sub-contractors with authority to hire and terminate employees, setting maintenance schedule and conducting routine maintenance, and managing ongoing training programs. Manages plant business and budget issues with home office interface. Proposes and implements equipment modifications and plant improvements. Implements, manages, maintains and updates all plant procedures, site policies, training and safety programs and work practices. Maintains safe and efficient operations of the facility, including accountability for regulatory compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations. Will direct all aspects of activity at assigned plants to ensure desired generation in a safe manner at minimum cost.
The General Plant Manager is highly visible in the community, responsible for public relations and community interaction. The position is responsible for local interactions with customers including steam host and utility.

full human resources, cost and budgetary accountability.
• Decisions typically related to implementation of department strategy, intradepartmental coordination, and
business outcomes.
• Results have significant impact on costs and achievement of department objectives.
• Identifies opportunities which make a significant difference to the performance of multiple department
functions and possibly organization-wide impact.
• Makes decisions for large-scale projects, a closely related set of projects and/or initiatives involving multiple
functional areas.
• Establishes operational objectives for multiple functions including work plans and delegating assignments to
subordinate managers and senior professionals.
• Works within broad guidelines; applies advanced technical knowledge of multiple functions to solve complex
problems which may have long-term impact on the department.
• Manages multiple functions within a department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and employees.

Job Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Business Management or equivalent, prefer master's degree.
• Previous leadership experience including a minimum of 5 years supervisory/managerial experience.
• Requires minimum of 15+ years in area of specialization, with a detailed understanding of electrical generation power plants, including startup, operations and maintenance of power plant

Salary Information
• Annual Rate Range - $172,739.72 to $220,243.14/year
