General Manager Vulcan Mechanical Services is seeking an experienced, growth- and profit-driven General Manager to lead our Montgomery, AL location. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping branch growth and profitability while building a financially healthy operation poised for continued development and scale. Working closely with the President and senior leadership team, the General Manager will drive sales growth, lead business development, align organizational goals with strategic plans, and execute operationally to achieve Vulcan and BCTS objectives. This leader will inspire innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable commercial growth. What You'll Do: Business Leadership • Develop and implement comprehensive business and marketing plans with measurable targets • Oversee strategic market research, analysis, and benchmarking to drive growth and identify new opportunities • Allocate resources effectively to ensure timely customer response, quality, and strategic execution • Inspire, lead, coach, and challenge team members to achieve excellence • Foster collaboration and communication across the business to capitalize on organizational strengths • Resolve conflicts effectively to maintain a positive and productive work environment Operations Oversight • Participate in creating and continuously improving operational systems for efficiency • Analyze and develop internal reporting requirements to measure progress accurately • Ensure trackable data is accurate across sales, gross profit, manpower, and resources • Develop, evaluate, and adjust annual plans on an ongoing basis Sales & Revenue • Drive revenue growth and lead business development initiatives across the Montgomery region • Develop and manage annual budgets including sales and G&A expenses aligned with organizational objectives • Achieve financial targets - meeting or exceeding revenue, gross profit, and operating profit goals • Evaluate and refine financial metrics to provide actionable performance insights • Develop and implement strategies to improve profit margins through operational efficiencies • Set clear financial and performance expectations with transparent metrics and a culture of accountability Communication & Stakeholder Engagement • Foster strategic, transparent communication at the Montgomery location to align business objectives • Oversee executive-level correspondence to external stakeholders - clear, professional, and impactful • Actively contribute to high-level company meetings with insights and direction on key initiatives • Provide regular reporting on Montgomery location results vs. plan to the President. Experience & Education • 4-7 years of experience in senior sales and commercial roles within mechanical services or HVAC OEM sectors • Demonstrated track record in proactive business development and revenue generation • Experience in P&L management with strong financial acumen • People and team leadership experience strongly preferred • Strong knowledge of business operations, scheduling, planning, and operating systems • Strong estimating knowledge and experience • Technical competence in HVAC systems and maintenance is advantageous • Ability to travel to various worksites and customer locations • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, or a related field required; Master's degree advantageous • Must be able to travel (vehicle and air) to meet the needs of the business.
