The Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter (previously Hotel Solamar) is the brand's first city-center location on the West Coast, and seamlessly blends the excitement of a metropolitan oasis with the carefree feeling of the islands. Located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, just blocks from Petco Park and the San Diego Convention Center, Margaritaville features 235 guest rooms as well as signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts.

LandShark Bar & Grill is our 3 meal restaurant with garage style doors opening to the corners of 6th and J St. Serving guest favorites like the signature LandShark burger, fish sandwiches, tacos, and fresh salads, LandShark puts a contemporary twist on classic American beach fare. Coastal-inspired menus, live music, and views of downtown San Diego complete the breezy beach bar vibe.

5 o'Clock Somewhere, the largest downtown rooftop pool space with a hip lounge and dining area boasting live entertainment 5-7 days a week. The venue features 168 seats - 18 at the bar, and 150 seats with tables. On the poolside, there will be 42 pool chairs, including day beds and cabanas.

Are you a dynamic hospitality leader with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences and driving exceptional hotel performance? Margaritaville San Diego Gaslamp is seeking an energetic and results-driven General Manager to lead the property and team through continued success.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly engaged hotel executive who thrives in a vibrant, fast-paced environment and brings strong operational leadership, financial acumen, and a proven food and beverage background. The ideal candidate will be a visible, hands-on leader who understands the unique demands of a full-service, lifestyle hotel and knows how to create an engaging experience for both guests and associates.

What You'll Do

• Lead all aspects of hotel operations, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources
• Drive revenue, profitability, and overall financial performance through strategic business planning and execution
• Provide strong leadership to department heads and associates, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and exceptional service
• Oversee and elevate Food & Beverage operations, ensuring quality, consistency, profitability, and an outstanding guest experience
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with ownership, Davidson leadership, guests, and key stakeholders
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and business performance to identify opportunities for growth
• Ensure operational standards, brand expectations, and service levels are consistently achieved
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial management while identifying opportunities to maximize revenue and control expenses
• Inspire a high-energy, guest-focused culture that reflects the Margaritaville experience

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience as a General Manager in a full-service hotel or resort
• Strong Food & Beverage leadership experience is required, with a proven understanding of F&B operations, financial performance, and revenue generation
• Demonstrated success managing hotel operations, budgets, revenue, and expenses
• Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to translate performance data into actionable strategies
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and inspire diverse teams in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Highly visible and hands-on leadership style with a passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences
• Ability to effectively partner with Davidson, ownership, and property leadership to achieve shared business objectives

Salary Range

USD $230,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
