What You'll Do
•
AWS SQL DBA Architect / EngineerLooking for a highly hands-on SQL DBA with strong AWS experience to support SQL Server migration and modernization initiatives. The role will work closely with architects to design, build, optimize, and support SQL Server environments on AWS, including standalone SQL EC2 instances, WSFC clusters, and SQL Always On Availability Groups.
Key responsibilities:- Design, build, and support SQL Server platforms on AWS
- Execute database migrations, backups, restores, recovery, and HA/DR activities
- Troubleshoot performance, availability, clustering, and replication issues
- Assess current implementations and recommend architectural and operational improvements
- Partner with infrastructure, application, and database teams
- Support production cutovers and post-migration stabilization
- Drive automation, operational excellence, and platform standardization
What You'll Bring
•
Required:- Strong SQL Server DBA experience
- Hands-on experience with WSFC and Always On Availability Groups
- Experience migrating SQL Server workloads to AWS
- Strong SQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to have:- Amazon RDS for SQL Server and PostgreSQL
- SQL Server to PostgreSQL migration experience
- Database modernization and platform optimization experience
- Experience building, maintaining, and improving custom SQL Server images
- PowerShell, CDK, and automation experience
This is a highly hands-on technical role with a strong focus on architecture, engineering, migration delivery, and continuous improvement.
