Who You'll Work WithThe UC Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft Teams Phone solutions. This role will lead carrier migrations, number management, E911 services, voice integrations, and enterprise telecommunications initiatives while helping clients modernize legacy voice environments. The ideal candidate combines deep telecommunications expertise with hands-on Microsoft Teams Phone experience and a proven track record delivering migrations from legacy PBX platforms to modern cloud communications solutions.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement Microsoft Teams Phone solutions.
- Architect PSTN connectivity, SBC integrations, voice routing, and resiliency solutions.
- Lead carrier assessments, number porting activities, and telecommunications migrations.
- Configure Teams Phone workloads, including dial plans, voice routes, calling policies, auto attendants, and call queues.
- Design and implement enterprise E911 solutions.
- Deploy and support Teams-certified devices and voice endpoints.
- Partner with network, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure platform readiness and voice quality.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of enterprise voice engineering, telecommunications, or unified communications experience.
- 3+ years of Microsoft Teams Phone implementation and support experience.
- Hands-on experience with Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and PSTN connectivity solutions.
- Strong knowledge of SIP, VoIP, SBCs, E911, dial plans, and enterprise voice routing.
- Experience managing large-scale carrier migrations and number porting efforts.
- Experience migrating from legacy PBX platforms (Avaya, Cisco, etc.) to Microsoft Teams Phone.
- Strong understanding of QoS, WAN/LAN, DNS, firewalls, and network services impacting voice quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate (MS-721)
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate (MS-700)
- AudioCodes, Ribbon, or Oracle SBC experience
- Genesys and ServiceNow integration experience
- Experience supporting 5,000+ user environments and multi-site deployments

East Bay, San Francisco, Silicon Valley:- Consultant: $114,000-$177,000
- Senior Consultant: $131,000-$203,000
San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, Seattle, Houston, New Jersey, New York City, Westchester, Boston, Washington DC:- Consultant: $105,000-$162,000
- Senior Consultant: $120-$186,000
All other locations:- Consultant: $96,000-$149,000
- Senior Consultant: $110,000-$171,000
