Fund AccountantSonoma, CA | Full-TimeExcellent Compensation + Bonus Opportunity + Full Benefits + 401(k) MatchAs the Fund Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting accounting operations across multiple funds, investments, and related entities. You'll be involved in month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, capital activity, investor reporting, special projects, and maintaining strong financial processes throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain general ledgers and prepare account reconciliations for multiple funds and related entities
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting
- Record and reconcile capital contributions, distributions, investment activity, and intercompany transactions
- Track fund-level cash activity and assist with cash flow planning
- Support the preparation of investor statements, capital account reporting, and other fund-related schedules
- Assist with allocations of income, expenses, gains, and losses among funds and investors
- Prepare supporting schedules for audits, tax filings, and investor reporting
- Monitor investment activity and help ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting records
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow activities
- Handle bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger research
- Participate in fund accounting and operational improvement projects
- Work closely with leadership, investment professionals, outside tax advisors, auditors, and internal team members
- Help strengthen processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy
- Provide timely financial information to support business and investment decisions
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Applicants with substantial relevant accounting experience in lieu of a degree will be strongly considered
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience with fund accounting, investment accounting, private equity, real estate funds, or multi-entity accounting is highly desirable
- Background in real estate, property management, construction, private investments, or family office accounting is a plus
- Understanding of capital contributions, distributions, partner or investor allocations, and fund-level reporting is preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles
- Experience with QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar accounting systems
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational ability
- Ability to manage multiple funds, entities, deadlines, and priorities
