About the Role:As a Software Development Engineer II on the Lending Servicing team, you'll build full-stack systems. These systems power Remitly's next generation of borrowing products, from origination through servicing and repayment. You'll also launch new offerings and scale the ones already live. You'll join our new Arlington, VA hub, partnering with the team across Seattle and Vancouver, and reporting to the Engineering Manager.
You Will:- Build for scale : Design and implement solutions for ambiguous and complex problems using full stack technologies (React, GraphQL, Java/Kotlin) that operate at scale.
- Design: Participate in the brainstorming, technical design, and grooming of the next generation of Lending with a data-driven and customer-centric viewpoint.
- Craft with pride: Focus on overall product quality and build.
- Collaborate: You will work with product managers, data scientists and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, high-quality software solutions.
You Have:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience, with experience building and operating systems end-to-end.
- Proficiency in TypeScript/React (or similar) plus a backend language (Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python).
- Use AI tools in your own workflow, from authoring agents to drafting technical specs and prototypes.
- Experience with distributed, large-scale systems and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Bonus: Experience in FinTech, lending, or payments.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $144,000-$180,000 for this Arlington, VA-based role. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
