Nurse Practitioner / Physician AssistantEmployment Type: Full Time

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced
Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Pediatric Urgent Care team.In this role, you will provide high-quality, age-appropriate care to pediatric patients in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Providers assess, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries while working closely with medical leadership and the broader clinical team.
Providers may support multiple clinic locations within their assigned region based on patient volume and staffing needs.
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), this role could include:- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat pediatric illnesses and injuries.
- Perform comprehensive, age-appropriate patient assessments.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing, including laboratory and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform urgent care procedures, including laceration repair, initial fracture management, and reduction of nursemaid's elbow.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment, medications, and follow-up care.
- Accurately and timely document patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians, clinical leadership, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain compliance with applicable clinical, HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA requirements.
- Provide exceptional patient and family experiences consistent with Care for Kids' mission and values.
- Travel between clinic locations within the assigned region as needed to support patient care and staffing needs.
Required Competencies:Nurse Practitioners- Current, valid, and unencumbered Texas RN/APRN licensure.
- Active national certification as a PNP or FNP from a certifying body recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Physician Assistants- Current, valid Texas Physician Assistant license.
- Active NCCPA certification.
All Providers- Minimum 2 years of experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Pediatric clinical experience strongly preferred.
- Pediatric urgent care, emergency medicine, or other fast-paced clinical experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- PALS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric environment.
- Excellent patient, family, and team communication skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA-waived testing requirements.
Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish.
