Position Description: CGI is looking for an experienced Software Engineer with strong expertise in Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Node.js, and modern frontend engineering.
You'll work on large-scale digital applications, building intuitive, scalable, and high-performing customer experiences. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with modern technologies, and delivering high-quality software in a collaborative environment.
This position is on-site located in our Cary, NC office.
Your future duties and responsibilities: What You'll Do
. Contribute across the full software development lifecycle - design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
. Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot
. Build modern front-end applications using Angular, Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
. Build and deploy cloud native applications on AWS, including Lambda, EKS, and S3
. Develop event-driven and real-time streaming solutions using Kafka, Artemis, and Flink
. Work across relational, NoSQL, and analytical data platforms to support scalable data solutions
. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and DevOps practices
. Collaborate with engineering, product, and platform teams on technical design and architecture
. Participate in Agile development, production support, and on-call rotations
. Leverage AI-powered development tools and engineering accelerators to improve productivity and delivery speed
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Must-Have Skills
. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, and system design
. 6+ years of experience designing and delivering scalable, enterprise-grade applications and platform solutions
. Strong object-oriented programming experience with Java and Python
. Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Swagger/OpenAPI, and Docker
. Hands-on experience building and deploying cloud native applications on AWS, including Lambda, EKS, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, and S3
. Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL data platforms, including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
. Experience building event-driven and real-time streaming solutions using Kafka, Artemis, and Flink
. Front end development experience using Angular, Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
. Demonstrated expertise in microservices architecture, API design, distributed systems, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles
. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, source control, and DevOps practices
. Experience working within Agile development environments, including production support and on-call rotations
. Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through ambiguity
Good to Have
. Experience with analytical and specialized data platforms such as Elasticsearch, ElastiCache, and Snowflake
. Experience implementing observability and monitoring practices (application health monitoring, performance optimization, logging, tracing, cloud cost efficiency)
. Ability to leverage AI powered development tools and engineering accelerators to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $81,600.00 $142,800.00.
