About the roleWe are looking for an experienced backend-leaning full-stack engineer to build and scale the voice systems at the core of ElevenLabs.
Creative Voices owns the voice and speech products inside ElevenCreative, including Text-to-Speech, Speech-to-Text, Voice Changer, Voice Isolator, Voice Library and Voice Cloning. You will join a small team turning frontier speech research into products used by millions.
You will own backend architecture and production systems, working closely with research engineering and security. Your responsibilities will include:
- Modernising voice architecture, including data models, storage and APIs.
- Making voice cloning and fine-tuning pipelines reliable through monitoring, retries and failure recovery.
- Building voice creation, verification and recommendation capabilities.
- Owning workstreams from design to production, including frontend changes where needed.
Requirements- Strong backend engineering experience building and scaling high-traffic production systems.
- Strong system design and database fundamentals, including data modelling, concurrency, migrations and security.
- Experience operating production services, with strong debugging, monitoring and failure recovery skills.
- Independent ownership, clear communication and the drive to ship quickly, with confidence working across the stack.
We value engineering fundamentals over specific languages or databases. Prior audio experience is not required. Experience modernising complex systems or building in a high-growth company is a plus.
