FSQA Manager - Site Specific (Haines City)

Position Summary.

  • The Quality Manager is the quality leader embedded in the Haines City, FL factory and accountable for setting the standard for quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, and consumer protection at the site. This role is highly hands-on and expected to be visible on the floor every day, driving execution, building capability, and setting the pace for the Haines City operation.
  • The individual leads the facility's Quality Assurance team and plans, coordinates, and executes quality assurance, quality control, and food safety programs designed to ensure continuous production of Sun Orchard products consistent with established standards of quality and food safety at a plant level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the activities of the QA staff, ensuring that quality and food safety policies and procedures are adhered to throughout every step of the production process.


  • Reviews, develops, and analyses product attributes to establish and maintain quality specifications for finished goods.
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives that align with corporate policies and strategic goals.
  • Oversees existing quality and food safety internal and external inspection programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as customer requirements.
  • Instructs and trains plant and warehouse personnel on quality assurance and food safety protocols.
  • Collaborates closely with plant management to meet customer requirements, drive product consistency, and minimize costs.
  • Ensures comprehensive inspection and monitoring of products throughout the production cycle.
  • Develops and manages ongoing training programs for key personnel to reinforce quality control standards and food safety awareness.
  • Ensures strict compliance with GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and food safety programs including HACCP and SQF standards.
  • Reviews and updates quality and food safety programs regularly to maintain relevance and effectiveness.
  • Leads investigations into customer complaints related to quality and food safety, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Stays informed of industry trends, regulatory updates, and technological advancements to support continuous improvement of QA systems and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field
  • PCQI, HACCP and GFSI (SQF practitioner) certification


  • Experience in Food Safety and Quality Control, including with customers, 3rd party quality systems auditors, and regulatory agencies (e.g., FDA, USDA, municipal wastewater)
  • Sound knowledge of cGMP, product regulations, Food Safety/HACCP, SSOP/ Sanitation standards.

  • Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems within a food or beverage manufacturing or regulated environment.
  • Ability to work in and support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs require

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years related experience in Juice or beverage preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • The employee may be required to stand, walk and sit for long periods at a time, wear the proper protective equipment as required, climb a ladder or stairs, hear and communicate readily, use both hands and arms. Use of telephone, cell phones, a computer, copier, and other office equipment will be required. Travel including automobile or airplane may also be required.


Working Conditions

  • This position is performed in an office and manufacturing environment. There may be exposure to noise, work near moving mechanical parts and forklifts, citrus fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
