Full Job Description
This individual contributor role within Vanguard's Personal Wealth Control and Oversight team is responsible for strengthening fraud risk management through proactive market awareness, control innovation, and product risk evaluation.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in industry forums, peer networks, and external engagements to stay current on emerging fraud threats, evolving attack patterns, and innovative technology solutions relevant to Personal Wealth.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and market practices to identify opportunities to strengthen fraud oversight capabilities.
  • Identify, assess, and lead opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains across fraud risk and control activities, leveraging existing tools, automation, and new technology solutions.
  • Evaluate and apply artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies, where appropriate, to improve governance, streamline workflows, and enhance risk detection and decision support.
  • Assess new and existing fraud technology solutions, including vendor products and internal capabilities, to determine fit, effectiveness, scalability, and alignment with business and control objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across enterprise fraud, product, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and legal to drive practical, business-aligned fraud risk solutions.
  • Develop recommendations and business cases for control enhancements, automation opportunities, and technology adoption based on risk exposure, operational impact, and implementation feasibility.
  • Support governance, reporting, and ongoing oversight activities by documenting findings, communicating insights, and tracking recommendations through execution.


Qualifications:
  • Experience in fraud risk management, controls, operational risk, or oversight within wealth management, brokerage, banking, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of fraud threats, control design, and risk assessment practices across client, operational, and digital channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and translate them into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Familiarity with automation, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities relevant to fraud risk management and control optimization.
  • Experience evaluating products, processes, or technology solutions through a risk and control lens.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and present recommendations clearly.
  • Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
