Job Title: Franchise Business Coach
Location: Work From Home - Candidates must reside close to a major airport. Preference will be given to candidates in in IL, VA, TX or GA in accordance with tax and administrative compliance requirements.
Overview: The Franchise Business Coach is the Support Center's link to a portfolio of Franchise Owners. You help them grow the business, run it well, and stay inside the Franchise Agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach Franchise Owners on customer service, revenue growth, marketing, operations and lesson quality
- Influence positive results through regular and effective communications and proactive support to franchisees
- Read each location's performance and decide what is worth acting on. Pull sales, labor cost, P&L statements and the operating measures, and coach an owner on which two or three things will actually move the business
- Keep a visitation schedule with each location, in person and remote
- Support New Pool Openings, where the measures, the benchmarks and the coaching all work differently than at a mature pool
- Remain current with all aspects of each franchisee's business through review of sales, labor cost, P&L statements, and other performance indicators
- Coach the Franchise Agreement and brand standards accurately
- Train Franchise Owners on new and updated products and initiatives
- Move best practices across the franchise community, and help owners adopt them rather than just hear about them
- Document issues, conversations and follow-up so any action taken at a location has a record
Qualifications:
- Judgment about numbers, not just comfort with them. Many measures can mislead. We want someone who asks whether a gap is real before building a plan around it, and who can tell an owner "this is noise" as readily as "this needs work"
- Experience in a swim school, a multi-unit franchise system, or another business coaching independent operators is preferred
- Proven ability to deliver results and influence decisions through strong communication
- Strong critical thinking and a proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to plan, set priorities, and work to business objectives
- Comfort learning the systems the job runs on: LessonBuddy (internal lesson scheduling software), Business Intelligence software, Claude AI. Prior experience with any of them helps
